So grateful to Expoxur City Impact Enterprises for featuring Heredar, our story, and the advocacy behind it. 🩷
Heredar is something very close to my heart. What started from a love for our heritage and Filipino food has grown into a journey of supporting local farmers, celebrating our food traditions, and creating more wholesome, plant-based food.🌱
As a founder, it’s really meaningful to have someone take the time to listen to our story and share it with others. Sometimes, when you’re busy building and figuring things out along the way, you don’t realize how far the journey has come until someone else tells your story back to you.🥹
I’m especially grateful for how Expoxur continues to support and give space to social enterprises like Heredar. It means so much to have a platform that recognizes not just the business, but the purpose and advocacy behind it. 🌿
Thank you, Expoxur, for helping us share our story and for believing in the work that social enterprises are trying to do.
One step at a time, one story at a time. ❤️
❤️ CIEcat Spotlight: Heredar Tablea de Cacao
Expoxur®100 DAYS OF WHY | Week 1
Some businesses begin with a business plan.
Heredar began with something inherited.
During the pandemic, Maria Recah Rhea Santayana - Co looked back to her family roots in Albay, to her grandfather’s cacao farm and her grandmother’s treasured chocolate recipe.
That inheritance became Heredar.
Today, Rhea is carrying that story forward as the third generation of women in her family preserving their cacao-making tradition, while creating a market for locally grown cacao and other native ingredients from Albay.
From pure tablea and cacao powder to sukang tuba and pili nuts, every Heredar product carries something bigger than what’s inside the package.
A farmer whose harvest deserves a market.
A Filipino food tradition worth preserving.
A family story worth passing on.
Heredar is women-led and family-run, with Rhea working alongside her mother, sister, and cousin. As the enterprise grows, so does the vision: to work with more farmers in Albay and create flexible livelihood opportunities for more women.
From one family’s heritage to a growing market for Albay farmers.
Heredar shows how preserving tradition can also create opportunities for the future. Every product connects a family legacy, Filipino ingredients, local farmers, and a new generation choosing to keep that heritage alive.
And that is Heredar’s WHY.
