PNP ARRESTS TOP 1 MOST WANTED PERSONS IN SURIGAO DEL SUR, PAMPANGA, AND SORSOGON
The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded another significant accomplishment in its continuing efforts to strengthen public safety with the arrest of three individuals identified as No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Persons during separate operations in Surigao del Sur, Pampanga, and Sorsogon.
In Barobo, Surigao del Sur, police personnel from the Regional Intelligence Division 13 and Barobo Municipal Police Station arrested alias โCommander Puma,โ 39, identified as the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 13 on July 9, 2026. The arrest was carried out by virtue of court-issued warrants for frustrated murder and three counts of attempted murder. The arrested individual is currently under police custody for proper disposition.
On the same day, joint operatives from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 3, San Fernando City Police Station, Pampanga Police Provincial Office, CIDG Pampanga, and Regional Intelligence Unit 3 arrested another No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 3 in Barangay San Jose, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The individual was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest for cases involving r**e and sexual assault, with no bail recommended by the court.
Meanwhile, a joint operation led by the Regional Intelligence Division 4A, with support from police units in Regions 4A and 5, resulted in the arrest of alias โRonnel Reyes,โ 38, a construction worker and native of Negros Occidental, who was listed as the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 4A. He was arrested at around on July 10, 2026 in Sorsogon City by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court of San Mateo, Rizal, with no bail recommended.
Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the police units involved for their coordinated efforts and reminded all personnel to continue observing lawful procedures in every operation.
โAng bawat arrest warrant na naisasakatuparan ay isang hakbang para palakasin ang tiwala ng publiko sa ating institusyon. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating operasyon, pero laging may kasamang respeto sa batas at karapatan ng bawat mamamayan,โ said PGEN Nartatez.
The Chief PNP emphasized that these accomplishments demonstrate the effectiveness of intelligence-based operations under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which strengthens coordination, planning, and response among police units. These efforts also support the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure a safer environment for every Filipino.
The PNP continues to pursue individuals with standing warrants while upholding due process, professionalism, and respect for human rights.
