➡️NZ diploma in healthcare, aging and disability service level 5 programme. This course prepares and trains students to deliver professional healthcare to patients in an aged care, disability or community setting.
The main points of the programme you might want to know:
It is the 1 year programme (44 weeks), including 40 weeks teaching week and 4 weeks school break
The course is face to face delivery with 3 days per week from 9am to 4.30pm
The programme includes 300 hours clinical placement arranged by the school
Qualification you will achieve: New Zealand Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (Practice/Applied practice) level 5
Entry requirement:
High school graduates or higher, or equivalent qualification
IELTS overall 5.5 with no band less than 5, or equivalent

Determinants of health and wellbeing in NZ
Principles and concepts of Maori Health and wellbeing
Dementia
Healthcare support practices
Manual Handling techniques
Healthcare practices and strategies

After you graduate, you can get minimum paid NZD$27/hour
Employment outcomes
Graduates of this programme will have the skills and knowledge to gain employment in roles such as consumer advocacy, disability practice, Navigation/Navigator, social services, counselling, IWI service, Mental health support, youth work in a range of settings, such as non-governmental organisations, justice/corrections, social services, residential and community care and support services.
Example of Job titles: Residential care worker, Family support worker, Disability services worker, community Health Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Kaiawhina Hauora, Mental Health support worker, etc.
Employment locations would include community support centres, rest homes, and aged care facilities, public health organisations, Hospitals, IWI Support centres, Disability support centre, etc
