Cream Cheese Brownies

Ingredients:

- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt

Cream Cheese Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- ½ tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well mixed.
3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until combined.
4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
5. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
7. Dollop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top, spreading it gently to cover the cream cheese layer.
8. Use a knife or a toothpick to swirl the cream cheese layer into the brownie batter for a marbled effect.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Tips:
Let the brownies cool completely before cutting for cleaner edges.
