A classic organic house salad is a simple, fresh side dish featuring organic mixed greens and crisp vegetables, perfect for pairing with any meal. Use high-quality organic ingredients for the best flavor—focus on seasonal, vibrant produce.
Ingredients (serves 4 as a side)
Salad:
6–8 cups organic mixed greens (spring mix, romaine, butter lettuce, or baby spinach)
1 cup organic cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
1 organic cucumber, thinly sliced
1–2 organic carrots, shredded or thinly sliced
1/2 organic red onion, thinly sliced (optional, for a bit of bite)
Optional add-ins: Sliced organic apple, avocado, or caramelized nuts for extra texture
Simple Balsamic Vinaigrette (recommended for an organic twist):
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2–3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (or apple cider vinegar for a lighter tang)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
1 small spring onion or garlic clove, finely chopped (optional)
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Wash and thoroughly dry the organic greens (use a salad spinner for crispness).
In a large bowl, combine the greens, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, and red onion.
Whisk together the vinaigrette ingredients in a small jar or bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving and toss gently to coat. Add any optional toppings like nuts right at the end for crunch.
