Our baby chickens were wandering thru the orchard today, loving the wide spaces, eating bugs and sunning themselves before the weather changes! It’s already feeling a little chilly in the mornings!

The end of our kiwiberry season is fast approaching, so if you want kiwiberries we are at the farmers markets every Sunday. This weekend it’s at Hamilton Lake instead of Claudelands. Pop in and pick up some juicy kiwiberries!

It’s been a big season for Bellberry Estate having sent double the amount of shipments overseas compared to our entire season last year and we aren’t finished yet. The first few shipments went to LA and this shipment is destined for Taiwan. Our season is far from over. Some of the kiwiberries we weighing 20-27gm!

A drink company called 1&0 Healthy Organic Emzynes made their first sample flavour of kiwiberry. I got to try this for the first time at the Farmers Market last week and loved it!!!

This company mainly exports to the Chinese market but you can find them at the Hamilton Farmers Market on a Sunday and try their amazing fermented drinks! Hamilton Farmers' Market,

We will be once again at the Farmers market. This week we will have some freeze dryice cream as requested and possibly freeze dry fejoas and peaches.

We will be at the Famers Markets tomorrow at Claudelands between 8am at 12 noon for the first time this season. We do have limited stock of kiwiberries so you will need to be quick!

Kiwiberries

Its amazing to look back and see what a few years can do to an orchard! In 2023 these reds were a year old. Still not adult plants yet (5 years to get them producing at 100%) and being organic this timeframe may take longer. It’s been a big learning curve and a huge financial burden to get these to market. This year (3rd year of exporting) looks like they will still be heading to the US along with our green variety even with the new tariffs. We hope to hit the 2 tonne mark this year and it’s certainly looking like that may happen based on the berries on there now, but there is a lot of time between now and February and its out of our hands now, it’s all reliant on the weather!
