Summer is (apparently) on its way!
With this cool, unpredictable spring, it’s hard to believe summer is just around the corner — but our cherry trees are telling us otherwise! We’ve got a lovely set of fruit on the way, though ripening has been taking its sweet time this year.
Over winter we made some big changes here on the orchard. In an effort to bring a little more balance to our lives, we’ve removed two large cherry blocks. It was a tough call, but it means we’re stepping away from the export market — and focusing on what we truly enjoy most: supplying our cherries directly to you here in New Zealand.
We’ve kept a great mix of red cherry varieties, but we did have to scale back our white cherries (Rainiers). While we’ll still have enough available at the roadside stall, we won’t be able to send Rainiers by courier this season. We know many of you have loved this beautiful variety, and we’ll really miss sharing it more widely!
Of course, we’re not the only ones feeling this unpredictable spring — the whole country has noticed. The cooler, unsettled weather has meant our cherries are ripening later than usual. Because of that, we’ve made the early decision that we won’t be sending any cherries by courier before Christmas this year.
📦 Courier orders for red cherries only will open in January, with dispatch days starting from 5th January 2026. Dates and pricing will be confirmed later in the month when we can get ordering online live.
🏡 Our roadside stall will be open as usual — likely from just before Christmas through to mid-January.
If you’d like to be notified when the website goes live for orders, just drop us a note at [email protected], and we’ll keep you updated. Of course, this news will also be posted here.
Thank you all for your continued support — it really does mean the world to us. We’re looking forward to another summer of beautiful cherries, sunshine (fingers crossed!), and seeing both familiar and new faces at the gate.
