When Internet Fails, Business Fails

The past two weeks have been some of the toughest for us as a business. The Airtel network we usually depend on completely let us down. Visited their office four times in seven days, yet browsing was impossible. Even sending a single message could take an entire day to deliver.

Thinking MTN would save us, we loaded 40GB… only to have it disappear in just three days. The result? Missed meetings, delayed assignments, lost communication with partners and customers, and countless hours of frustration.

At the end of the day, FiberOne just saved us a few minutes ago and we are grateful. But it also raises another question: how can servers go down after a 3-week downtime? This shows just how fragile our reliance on technology can be.

The truth is, reliable internet is not a luxury, it’s the lifeline of modern business. Without it, productivity stalls, opportunities are lost, and relationships suffer.

Now I’m left reflecting on a bigger “what if”:

👉 What if, one day, all technology shut down at once? Would we, as humans, still be able to function, communicate, and thrive?

Food for thought.

Still reminiscing on the incredible experience at IATF, where Afreximbank created the platform for businesses to trade within Africa and beyond.

For us at Ady’s, it was truly an eye-opener, an opportunity to see firsthand what global trade and meaningful connections really mean. Heavy deals were closed, valuable partnerships were formed, and friendships that will last a lifetime were kindled.

We’ve been busy connecting with more partners, buyers, and distributors who are excited about our healthy, preservative-free agro-processed products from spices and spice blends to palm oil, honey, teas, baby blends, and gluten-free flours.
