Household Tools in Munga

The Munga people have a rich material culture reflected in the HOUSEHOLD TOOLS IN MUNGA:

The Household tools are Kusock (Seive) normally made of Bomboo Fibre; Dwock and Kadock (Baskets) for carrying farm produce; Lingha and HOUSEHOLD TOOLS IN MUNGA:

The Household tools are Kusock (Seive) normally made of Bomboo Fibre; Dwock and Kadock (Baskets) for carrying farm produce; Lingha and Nagang (Shelves) for keeping pots and Calabash in the kitchen;Zwan (Motta) (Shelves) for keeping pots and Calabash in the kitchen;Zwan (Motta); Gip (Jar) for keeping wine and fetching Water from the well; Kyang to put soups; Dyaii to put foods; Kyang Duk to cook soups; Swaan (Knife 🗡️).

Because of their primary occupation as Hunters, they are able to developed material culture for hunting, these are Kantau Buhchi, Gyuel, Mmuam, Hunting is organized in three level. tools they traditionally use for cooking, food storage, farming, and other daily activities. Some of these tools include:

- Kusock – a sieve, traditionally made from bamboo fibre.
- Dwock and Kadock – baskets used for carrying farm produce.
- Lingha and Nagang – shelves used for keeping pots and calabashes in the kitchen.
- Zwan – a mortar used for pounding food.
- Gip – a jar used for storing local wine and fetching water from the well.
- Kyang – a container used for serving soup.
- Dyaii – a container used for serving food.
- Kyang Duk – a traditional cooking pot for preparing soup.
- Swaan – a traditional knife used for household and farming purposes.

In addition to farming, the Munga people are traditionally known as skilled hunters. Because hunting has long been one of their primary occupations, they developed a variety of hunting tools as part of their material culture. These include Kantau Buhchi, Gyuel, and Mmuam. Traditionally, hunting among the Munga people is organized into three levels, reflecting different stages of experience, responsibility, and participation in hunting activities.

It is with deep sadness💔😢😭 that we announce the passing of our DESI NUNKBUI, Mr. SAKUNA VOCKS, who departed last night.
Burial arrangements are currently ongoing.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, loved ones, and the entire community during this difficult time. May God grant you strength and comfort as you mourn this great loss.
May the soul of Mr. Sakuna Vocks rest in perfect peace. Amen.
