BETWEEN HIS EXCELLENCY, DR ALEX OTTI AND DR UCHE OGAH.

I rarely get into such matters but my heart trembles as I write, because I am not just a woman, not just a mother, but a minister who has carried the burden of Abia and worried about her fate for years. I had watched Abia wallow in darkness. Severally I went over to pray at the tower with my team.
One of the days, the lord had asked me to reach out to Dr Agodi Onyeaso to accompany me, little did I know the role of Sir Rich Onyeaso her husband to the construction of Abia tower. Story for another day,

I had seen the children of Abia grow up and wondered if light would ever break through. And now, when God in His mercy has given us a rare light, it is saddening, almost unbearable, to see certain individuals fighting against that light instead of nurturing it.

Nevertheless, they talk to high heavens. Dr Uche Ogah’s support for Governor Alex Otti is not an act of betrayal, but a demonstration of sincerity and commitment to Abia’s progress. His decision is rooted in the belief that good governance transcends party lines, and that when a leader is genuinely working to uplift the people, it is only right to stand with him. To frame his support as treachery is to misunderstand the higher calling of service to the people.
It should be above partisan politics.

For years, Abia has struggled under the weight of mismanagement, and Dr Ogah has watched this decline with deep concern. His alignment with Dr Alex Otti is a conscious choice to back a rare light that has begun to shine in the state. It is not about abandoning APC or chasing personal ambition, but about ensuring that Abia’s children do not continue to grow up in darkness. Supporting a leader who is delivering results is not betrayal, it is responsibility.

Those who accuse him of double-mindedness ignore the fact that true leadership requires courage to rise above narrow interests. Dr Ogah has not sold his birthright; rather, he has chosen to protect the future of Abia North and the entire state by standing with a governor who is restoring dignity and hope. His actions are well intended, and history will remember him not as a betrayer, but as a man who put Abia first, a Patriot, a humanitarian, a good governance advocate, a reformer, a statesman, a public policy champion, a civic minded leader, a champion, a governance enthusiast and a man driven by the pursuit of just and effective leadership.

LET GENUINE UNITY REIGN.
ABIA REJOICE IS THE MOTTO.

Morning and Evening Daily Devotional by C.H. Spurgeon
April, 16 (Morning) Devotion
“The precious blood of Christ.”

1 Peter 1:19

Standing at the foot of the cross, we see hands, and feet, and side, all distilling crimson streams of precious blood. It is “precious” because of its redeeming and atoning efficacy. By it the sins of Christ’s people are atoned for; they are redeemed from under the law; they are reconciled to God, made one with him. Christ’s blood is also “precious” in its cleansing power; it “cleanseth from all sin.” “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” Through Jesus’ blood there is not a spot left upon any believer, no wrinkle nor any such thing remains. O precious blood, which makes us clean, removing the stains of abundant iniquity, and permitting us to stand accepted in the Beloved, notwithstanding the many ways in which we have rebelled against our God. The blood of Christ is likewise “precious” in its preserving power. We are safe from the destroying angel under the sprinkled blood. Remember it is God’s seeing the blood which is the true reason for our being spared. Here is comfort for us when the eye of faith is dim, for God’s eye is still the same. The blood of Christ is “precious” also in its sanctifying influence. The same blood which justifies by taking away sin, does in its after-action, quicken the new nature and lead it onward to subdue sin and to follow out the commands of God. There is no motive for holiness so great as that which streams from the veins of Jesus. And “precious,” unspeakably precious, is this blood, because it has an overcoming power. It is written, “They overcame through the blood of the Lamb.” How could they do otherwise? He who fights with the precious blood of Jesus, fights with a weapon which cannot know defeat. The blood of Jesus! sin dies at its presence, death ceases to be death: heaven’s gates are opened. The blood of Jesus! we shall march on, conquering and to conquer, so long as we can trust its power!

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was denied access to Eagle Square for its proposed convention, insisting that no such request was formally submitted to the appropriate authorities.

Speaking to journalists after inspecting ongoing projects across the FCT on Monday, Wike described the allegation as baseless and challenged those behind it to provide evidence of any official application.

“I am not aware of any such development, and I don’t even know which party you are referring to,” he said. “If it is the ADC, then such claims are often attempts to gain public sympathy. As we speak, no formal application has been submitted to my office or any relevant authority for the use of Eagle Square.”

The minister explained that access to the iconic venue, Eagle Square, is open to all groups, provided due process is followed.

“The process is straightforward. Anyone who wishes to use Eagle Square must apply through the appropriate channel and make the required payment,” Wike said, noting that both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress had previously complied with the same procedure for their conventions.

Bill Clinton abandoned American troops in Somalia.

Barack Obama abandoned Americans in Libya.

Joe Biden abandoned 13 US soldiers in Afghanistan.

Donald Trump moved mountains to rescue one American pilot stranded in Iran.

That is the difference between weakness and strength. Between abandoning our people and refusing to leave anyone behind.

“Who Killed Dele Giwa?” — Nigeria’s Most Enduring Unanswered Question

The assassination of Dele Giwa on 19 October 1986 remains one of the most shocking and unresolved crimes in Nigeria’s history. Over three decades later, the question still lingers: Who was responsible?

The Assassination

Dele Giwa, co-founder of Newswatch magazine, was killed in his Lagos home by a parcel bomb—the first known case of its kind in Nigeria.

The package was delivered to his residence in Ikeja

It exploded as he opened it

He died shortly after from severe injuries

At the time, Giwa was one of Nigeria’s most fearless investigative journalists, known for exposing corruption and state excesses.

The Political Climate

The killing occurred under the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), a period marked by:

Military dominance in governance

Suppression of dissent

Tension between journalists and the state

Giwa had reportedly been questioned by security agencies shortly before his death.

Wole Soyinka’s Account

In his memoir, You Must Set Forth at Dawn, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka recounts a tense encounter with Babangida following Giwa’s murder.
Key points from Soyinka’s account:

He refused a national honour in protest of Giwa’s death

He directly confronted Babangida, questioning the government’s role

Babangida denied involvement and promised a judicial commission of inquiry

The promised commission never materialised

This exchange deepened public suspicion and highlighted the lack of transparency surrounding the case.

Legal Battles and Allegations

Human rights lawyer Gani Fawehinmi pursued the case aggressively:

Filed legal action against top security officials

Named individuals within the military intelligence structure

Pushed for accountability through the courts

However:

The case became entangled in legal technicalities

Authorities cited ongoing court proceedings as a reason not to set up an inquiry

No conclusive prosecution was achieved

Why the Case Remains Unsolved

Several factors contributed to the mystery remaining unresolved:

Lack of an independent judicial inquiry

Political interference and military influence

Weak investigative follow-through

Legal obstacles and stalled proceedings

Legacy

The death of Dele Giwa has become a symbol of:
✔️ The dangers faced by investigative journalists
✔️ The struggle for press freedom in Nigeria
✔️ The culture of impunity in political crimes
It is often referenced in discussions about accountability, justice, and governance in Nigeria.
