Over 2 years ago when I had just moved to KL, I was digging into chendol 🍵 EVERYDAY (who doesn’t love malaysian food!) Naturally I put on weight over time, and I started to feel sluggish. I had to get my act together and get myself back in top form! And I did just that!
At the time I started, my main goal was weight loss. However, my trainer educated me on the importance of body composition (body fat v. muscle mass)💪 and how that was more important than my overall weight. My visceral fat levels were off the scales and I knew then, my body was being neglected.
It was really hard when I first started. I made it to gym classes only once a week, at most twice and cancelled on PT sessions a lot (I remain thankful that my trainer did NOT give up on me!) The global lockdown was what got me re-fired 🔥to focus on working out 🏋🏻‍♀️ as I needed a way out of the lockdown fatigue.
Consistency is key 🔑 in maintaining a regular workout routine and exercising became an activity I looked forward to. I also saw how working out in the morning🌞 set the tone for the day ahead. The happy theory is so true. This is the fittest 🏋🏻‍♀️ I’ve ever been and I’m so glad that workouts have become my 🌈

I was always active as a kid. My passion for dance 💃 kept me dancing professionally until I had my first child 👶. Therefore being active is all I knew! I feel lost without it.
At this point my goals are to be HEALTHY & FIT always! For me, my children and my family. Movement is a part of my DNA 🧬 at this point and I will continue to do it because it makes me feel great!
I also want to set an example for my kids, and raise them to think of health & fitness first so that they make it a priority! Body image is something we have never discussed in my house and I would like to keep it that way, especially with all the craziness on social media right now, and more so when it comes to girls! I want my daughter to love being active & eating healthy NOT because she wants to “look” a certain way, but because she understands it's good for her!
✅ This exercise utilises multiple muscle groups in your lower body!
✅ Effective way of sculpting & strengthening your glutes, quads, hips, calves, hamstrings & core!
✅ Engaging multiple muscles in your lower body at once increases the ❤️ rate, which helps 🔥 more calories!

🏋🏻‍♀️ Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy to tackle daily chores.
🏋🏻‍♀️ People who exercise regularly tend to do so because it gives them an enormous sense of well-being. They feel more energetic throughout the day, 💤 better at night, have sharper memories, and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves and their lives. And it’s also a powerful medicine for many common mental health challenges.

I have always been active in sports since a very young age. I guess it's in my genes. Most of my relatives and ancestors were all sportspeople.
Apart from feeling alive after a great sweat sesh💦, the glow & natural blush right after, without make up, are the bonus perks I find beautiful.
I think back to the days pre-covid where I had a community to workout with. A community to share the energy with, a community who shares the struggles & the victories! How much we take from granted in this life. Some days are hard, but hey! Nothing a good sweat can’t cure!

Started off wanting to lose weight. But always never wanted to be just skinny, I wanted to be strong 🏋🏻‍♀️!

My dream🌟 is to be able to prepare my body efficiently for whenever it needs me! I imagine working on lean muscles while burning fat would be the right path for me.

Though many people do not believe this in the beginning, movement 🏋🏻‍♀️ has helped my confidence levels, sleep 💤 quality, stress management and the bonus benefit is having glowing skin!!
