🍅Did you know that almost every fruit starts off green? 🌱
It's nature's way of protecting them until the seeds are ready. Only then does the colour change, the sweetness develop. That's when you know it's ready.

While we wait for these little ones, plenty of other fresh seasonal produce is ready and waiting for you this Saturday. 🌿

That bloody time of the year is here 🫐 — and my hands? Well… they say it all. 😂

Mulberries (Tut) are in season — come grab yours this Saturday morning 13th June before they're gone!
We're also bringing yellow zucchini, white aubergines, fresh peaches and so much more straight from the farm to you.

Qatt ħsibt x’VERAMENT jiġri meta jintemm stagun? 🌱

Mhux biss “spiċċa l-ħsad” u nimxu għall-ieħor… hemm reset sħiħ tal-art.

Il-pjanti jinqatgħu.
Il-plastik jitneħħa.
Anke l-ħadid li jkun hemm fil-ħamrija jinġibed ’il barra — xogħol tqil u mhux faċli xejn.

Sigħat ta’ xogħol fiżiku… biss biex jitnaddaf kollox u l-art terġa’ tkun lesta mill-ġdid.

Għax il-biedja ma tieqafx. Hija ċiklu.

Ever wondered what REALLY happens when a season ends? 🌱

It’s not just “harvest done” and move on… it’s a full reset of the land.

Plants are cut down.
Plastic is removed.
Even the metal supports buried in the soil are pulled out — heavy work and far from easy.

Hours of physical labour… just to clear everything and get the land ready again.

Because farming never stops. It’s a cycle.

One season ends… another begins.

And what comes next after strawberries? 🥔 Potatoes.

What you see at the market is only the final result — not the heat, the effort, and the hard work behind it.

Bħalissa, hemm min qed isaqsi dwar l-impatt tal-materjal li sploda fil-kamra tan-nar il-bieraħ, fuq il-prodott lokali mkabbar fir-raba' f'Malta.

Xi ftit punti:

I. Mhux kull kimika li tkun fil-ħamrija tittella mill-pjanta li tkun qed tikber

II. Il-pjanta🌱 ttella anqas perklorat jekk ikun hemm ammont tajjeb ta' nutrijenti fil-ħamrija u nistgħu nassiguraw lil kulħadd li l-bdiewa Maltin🧑‍🌾 jagħtu ammont ta' nutrijenti għoljin biżżejjed biex il-ħamrija tibqa' fertili u l-pjanta tikber tajjeb.

Ħafna nies jaraw biss il-prodott finali… imma wara kull frawla, dulliegħa, bettieħa u ħaxixa friska hemm xogħol reali li mhux dejjem jidher — sigħat twal, sħana, sagrifiċċju u qawmien kmieni 🌱

Bħala bidwi żagħżugħ, nemmen li importanti nkomplu nżommu dan ix-xogħol ħaj. Mhux faċli — speċjalment fis-sajf bis-sħana kbira — imma nagħmluh b’passjoni u kburija.

Anke frott li ma jibqax perfett biex jinbiegħ frisk qatt ma jintrema. Nużawh biex nagħmlu jams u preserves sabiex xejn ma jinħela 🍓

Nixtieq nirringrazzja lil Bonġu Malta tal-opportunità, u lil dawk kollha li naħdem magħhom ta' kuljum — l-appoġġ tagħkom ifisser ħafna għalija

🇬🇧 Many people only see the final product… but behind every strawberry, watermelon, melon and fresh vegetable, there is real work you don’t always see — long hours, heat, sacrifice, and early mornings 🌱

As a young farmer, I believe it’s important we keep this work alive. It’s not easy — especially in summer with the intense heat — but we do it with passion and pride.

Even fruit that isn’t perfect for fresh sale is never wasted. We turn it into jams and preserves so nothing goes to waste 🍓

I would like to thank Bonġu Malta for the opportunity, and all those I work with every day — your support means a lot to me.

This is an artichoke flowering — and not many people get to see this! 🌿
Most artichokes are harvested as buds, long before they ever get the chance to bloom.
Apart from being incredibly nutritious, artichokes are also a haven for bees. They absolutely love this flower, burying their entire bodies inside to collect every last drop of pollen and nectar.
Isn't nature beautiful? 🐝💜
