Speech I expect from RUTO
My fellow Kenyan citizens,
Today, I stand before you with a heavy heart, recognizing the deep unrest and dissatisfaction that has gripped our nation. The recent protests across our country, stemming from grievances over oppressive taxation and its profound impact on your lives, have not gone unnoticed. Your voices, loud and clear, echo the frustration and hardship that many of you endure daily.
As your President, it has always been my duty to serve the best interests of the people. However, in light of the current situation and after much reflection, I have come to the realization that my continued leadership may further exacerbate the division and discontent within our society. Therefore, with a profound sense of responsibility and humility, I hereby tender my resignation as President of this great nation.
I did not take this decision lightly. I have always believed in the resilience and spirit of our nation, in our ability to overcome challenges together. Yet, recent events have shown a deep-seated need for change, for leadership that can forge a path of unity and prosperity for all.
I urge all parties involved, from government officials to protest organizers and citizens alike, to engage in dialogue and seek solutions that will address the grievances at hand. It is only through open and sincere communication, and a commitment to fairness and justice, that we can move forward as a stronger and more cohesive nation.
To my fellow citizens who have entrusted me with this office, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served you. I leave with a sense of hope that our collective efforts will pave the way for a better tomorrow.
May God bless our nation
Thank you, and farewell.
