CATFISH FEEDING TOP TIP 🐟

Stop feeding your catfish like chickens.

The rule: "Feed what they can finish in 20 minutes."

Why?
1. Overfeeding = wasted money. Uneaten pellets rot = bad water = sick fish.
2. Hungry catfish grow faster. Slightly hungry fish are active, healthy fish.

Feed 2x per day. Morning + evening. Same time, same spot. They'll start splashing when they hear you coming 😂

Feed cost is 60% of catfish farming. Get this right = profit.

African Nightshade /Manangu farming

Harvest early, harvest often — and never let it flower if you want tender leaves.

Why it matters:
Manangu gets bitter as it matures. Once it flowers and seeds, the leaves turn tough and the taste gets very strong. Most buyers want young, tender, less-bitter leaves.

This is NOT cruelty. This is hoof care.

Ever had an ingrown toenail? Imagine walking on it 24/7 while weighing 600kg.

This hydraulic tilt table lets us safely trim our cows’ hooves. No stress, no ropes, no injury to the cow or the farmer. 5 minutes of being sideways = months of comfortable walking.

Healthy hooves = healthy cows = quality milk/meat.

Lame cows suffer. We prevent that.

Bonus tip that saves money:
Start small Ducks forage way better than chickens. If you can free-range or use a movable "duck tractor", they'll eat slugs, snails, and w**ds all day and cut your feed bill 30%+.

Kales farming

Signs your kales are screaming "w**d me now"
1. Yellow lower leaves: W**ds are stealing nitrogen
2. You can’t see soil between rows: W**d canopy is forming
3. Kales look stunted vs neighbor’s plot: Competition is happening underground
4. After fertilizer: W**ds love CAN/urea more than kales do. W**d 3-5 days after top dressing.

During a standard semen collection protocol:
1️⃣ The boar mounts a collection dummy.
2️⃣ The technician uses a specific, firm digital pressure on this spiral tip to stimulate ej*******on.
3️⃣ Safe, hygienic matting prevents slipping and keeps the sample pure.

WHAT I HAD: Old iron sheets, broken jerrycans, leftover mesh, 2 free afternoons

WHAT I DID:
1. Cut windows + covered with mesh → sunlight + airflow FREE
2. Raised floor 15cm with bricks → no more wet litter
3. Painted inside white → light bounces = 14hrs “daylight”
4. Added wheels from old mkokoteni → rotate every Sunday

What tomatoes need at fruiting stage
Once fruit has set like in your photo, the plant shifts from leafy growth to fruit bulking. That means:

Lower Nitrogen (N) → Too much N now = more leaves, fewer fruit, plus soft fruit and blossom end rot.
Higher Potassium (K) → K drives fruit size, color, sugar content, firmness, and shelf life.
Steady Phosphorus (P) → Still needed for energy + root activity, but less than K.
Calcium (Ca) + Boron (B) → Critical to prevent blossom end rot and fruit cracking.
Magnesium (Mg) → Prevents yellowing between leaf veins during heavy fruit load

3 lies about starting poultry:
🚫 “You need 500 chicks to make profit”
🚫 “Brooders must be expensive”
🚫 “You’ll fail if you start small”

Truth: I started with a simple brooder for 10 chicks:
- 1 cardboard/plywood box 2ft x 3ft
- 1 infrared bulb or ordinary 250W bulb = heat
- Wood shavings + newspaper
- Chick feeder + drinker

Small brooder = small risk, fast learning.
Scale only after you master the basics: brooding, feeding, biosecurity.

Start small but never fail to START.

Save this if you’re planning your first chicks this month.
