Recently, farmers and producers across the value chains under the Regional Coalition for Farmers Markets completed a practical Business For Life training — generously sponsored by Business For Life! .life
This was not a classroom about theory or certificates. It was about the realities of running a business! Understanding your numbers, pricing your products, managing your money, serving your customers, making better decisions and building businesses that can grow and endure.
For farmers and food producers, these lessons go beyond the market stall. They can influence how a producer plans the next season, prices their harvest, invests in their business, manages cash flow and turns an idea or a small enterprise into a sustainable livelihood.
The real measure of the training will not be what was written in a notebook. It will be what happens when these entrepreneurs return to their farms, kitchens, workshops and market stalls and putting what they learned into practice.
