We'd love your thoughts on something we've been dreaming about...

We already sell our amazing savory pies online, but what if we also shared the incredible artisan foods we've discovered while creating our foodie retreats?

Our retreats take place at Castello di Potentino in Southern Tuscany, Château de Ternay in the Loire Valley, and, coming in 2027, Kilmartin Castle in the Highlands of Scotland. Along the way, we've had the privilege of meeting incredible artisans, farmers, beekeepers, cheesemakers, and producers who create some of the most amazing foods we've ever tasted.

We're talking about products you can't easily find in the U.S.—Potentino estate olive oil and honey from Tuscany, Château de Ternay estate honey, artisan French butter from the Loire region, Hebridean Sea Salt from Scotland, Scottish heather honey, heritage pasta, small-batch fruit preserves, and other hidden gems.

The best part? Every product would come from a producer we've personally met and built a relationship with. We know their stories, we've visited where they're made, and we've fallen in love with what they create.

This wouldn't be just another gourmet food shop. It would be a collection of authentic foods from the people and places that have become part of the Solstice story.

Would you be excited to see something like this in our online shop? And what European specialty would you love for us to bring home?

We'd love to hear your ideas! ❤️

I wanted to give a shout-out to the amazing people who have helped Solstice Savory Pies grow from just an idea into what it is today.

This spring, I turned over our shipping operations to Izzy. I originally did it so I could travel for our Solstice Foodie Retreats while knowing everything back home was being taken care of. Izzy has completely stepped into the role and now runs our shipping. I’m so thankful to have her as part of our team. Her hard work, organization, and dedication are helping us continue to grow, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

To Finn and Zak—my sons—you’ve been here since day one. Whether it’s shipping orders, making local deliveries, picking up inventory from cold storage, working farmers markets, or jumping in wherever you’re needed, you’ve both helped more than you know. Watching you grow alongside this business has been one of my greatest joys, and I’m so proud of the young men you’ve become.

And to Patrick, my genius husband—thank you for everything you do behind the scenes. From our website and marketing to photography, videos, and being my partner in Solstice Foodie Retreats, none of this would be possible without your creativity, encouragement, and expertise. Every crazy idea I come up with somehow becomes a reality because of you.
Building both Solstice Savory Pies and Solstice Foodie Retreats has meant sleepless nights, taking chances, believing in big dreams, and working harder than I ever imagined. But seeing these dreams come to life has made every challenge worth it.

I’m so excited for what’s ahead as we continue to grow, bring more incredible people onto our team, and keep sharing amazing food and unforgettable experiences.

And finally, thank you to every single one of you who has ordered our pies, joined one of our foodie retreats, shared our businesses with friends and family, or supported us in any way along this journey. We truly wouldn’t be here without you, and we are so grateful.
Here’s to the next chapter!

Happy Summer Solstice! 🌞🌅

At Solstice Savory Pies, today is a special day for us!
The changing of the seasons is written into everything we do - it’s even in our name. The solstice reminds us why we started: to craft pies that honor the rhythm of the earth, the bounty of each season, and the simple joy of gathering around really good food.

Today the sun is at its peak. The days are long, the air is warm, and summer is officially here. We couldn’t think of a better reason to celebrate.

Thank you for being part of our community and for letting us be part of your table. Here’s to the season!

One of my favorite parts of traveling is coming home inspired.

As many of you know, Patrick and I recently spent time in Scotland searching for the perfect location for our September 2027 Foodie Retreat. We found it at Kilmartin Castle, tucked into the beautiful Argyll Highlands—a place rich in history, incredible landscapes, and some pretty amazing food.

Whenever I travel, I can’t help but think about pie.

I find myself wandering through markets, talking with local chefs, eating in small pubs, and asking questions about the ingredients and traditions that make a place unique. Scotland was no different.

The Argyll region is known for both its incredible seafood and its Highland game. Fresh seafood comes in daily from the nearby coast, while venison and game have been part of the local food culture for generations.

So now I’m back home in California, and my brain is already working on a new Solstice pie inspired by Scotland.

The question is...

Would you rather see:

🥧 A Scottish Seafood Pot Pie

or

🥧 A Highland Game Pot Pie featuring venison and traditional Scottish flavors?

Tell me below. I’d love to hear what sounds most exciting to you. Who knows... your vote may help decide the next pie we create.

More to come on our September 6th-12th 2027 Scottish retreat at Kilmartin coming soon. We have just 5 rooms and 10 guests total for this special retreat. Dm me if you’re interested!

I want to introduce you all to Patrick… my husband, best friend, adventure partner, business partner, and the creative force behind so much of what you see with Solstice Savory Pies and Solstice Foodie Retreats.

Patrick is the designer behind our brands, photographer, our marketing director, my co-host for our foodie retreats, and the person who has believed in these dreams right alongside me from the very beginning. Without him, the Solstice brands simply wouldn’t exist the way they do today.
He’s the calm to my chaos, the one behind the camera capturing so many beautiful moments, the late-night idea person, the problem solver, and the person always willing to jump into the next adventure with me… even when it means living out of a van in Scotland or spending weeks preparing castles and châteaus for our guests. ❤️

Right now we’re in the Loire Valley in France getting ready to welcome guests for our Solstice Foodie Retreat at Château de Ternay, and I cannot wait to start sharing more of this magical area with all of you.
Get ready for lots of photos, stories, food, wine, markets, château life, and behind-the-scenes moments from the Loire Valley over the next week. 🥂🇫🇷

Ciao for now!

Marnie

P.S. this photo was taken a few days ago in Crinan Scotland ❤️
