அறிவுத்தோட்டம் (Arivuthottam) என்பது வேளாண்மை, சுற்றுச்சூழல், அறிவியல் சிந்தனை, இயற்கையோடு இணைந்த வாழ்வியல் மற்றும் கிராமப்புற வளர்ச்சி ஆகியவற்றை ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் ஒரு கள அடிப்படையிலான கற்றல், பயிற்சி மற்றும் சமூக மாற்ற மையம் ஆகும்.

வேலூர் மாவட்டம், காளாம்பட்டு கிராமத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள அறிவுத்தோட்டம், கடந்த 15 ஆண்டுகளுக்களாக வளங்கன்றா வேளாண்மையை நடைமுறைப்படுத்தி வருகிறது.
இயற்கை வளங்களைப் பாதுகாத்தல், வேளாண்மையை வாழ்வியலோடு இணைத்தல்,
மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்களுக்கு நேரடி அனுபவத்தின் மூலம் கற்றலை வழங்குதல், விவசாயிகள் மற்றும் கிராமப்புற மக்களின் திறன்களை மேம்படுத்துதல் ஆகியவற்றை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு அறிவுத்தோட்டம் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.
தற்போது அறிவுத்தோட்டத்தின் செயல்பாடுகள் மூன்று முக்கியக் கூறுகளின் அடிப்படையில் நடைபெறுகின்றன:
1. நிலையான வேளாண்மை பண்ணை (Sustainable Agriculture Farm)
அறிவுத்தோட்டத்தின் அடிப்படைத் தளம் அதன் வளங்குன்றா வேளாண்மை பண்ணையாகும்.
இங்கு இயற்கை மற்றும் சுற்றுச்சூழலுக்கு உகந்த வேளாண்மை முறைகள் நடைமுறையில் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டு, அவற்றை நேரடியாகக் காணவும் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவும் வாய்ப்பு ஏற்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.

பள்ளி மற்றும் கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள், வேளாண் கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள், விவசாயிகள், குடும்பங்கள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் அறிவுத்தோட்டத்திற்கு வருகை தருகின்றனர்.

இக்குழுக்கள் அறிவுத்தோட்டத்தின் செயல்பாடுகளை விரிவுபடுத்துவதற்கும், தேவையான இடங்களில் களப் பயிற்சிகளை வழங்குவதற்கும் உதவும்.

உணவு மற்றும் விருந்தோம்பல் அறிவுத்தோட்டத்திற்கு வரும் குழுக்களுக்குத் தேவையான உணவு, இயன்றவரை பண்ணையிலேயே தயாரித்து வழங்கும் முறையை உருவாக்குவது திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாகும்.
பண்ணையில் விளையும் காய்கறிகள், கீரைகள், பழங்கள் மற்றும் பிற இயற்கை விளைபொருட்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி உணவு தயாரிப்பதன் மூலம்:பண்ணை → உணவு → ஆரோக்கியம் → சுற்றுச்சூழல்என்ற தொடர்பை நேரடியாக அனுபவிக்கச் செய்ய முடியும்.

Arivuthottam is a field-based learning, training and social transformation initiative that integrates sustainable agriculture, environmental education, scientific thinking, healthy living and rural development.
Located at Kaalampattu village, near Latheri in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu, Arivuthottam has been practising sustainable and natural farming for the last 15 years.
Founder :K.Senthamil Selvan an activist of Tamil Nadu Science Forum and Arivoli Iyakkam
Over the years, the farm has evolved beyond agricultural production into a living learning space where students, farmers and the general public can experience nature, agriculture and rural life directly.
At present, the activities of Arivuthottam are organised around three major components:
1. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE FARM
A Living Laboratory for Natural and Ecological Farming
The sustainable agriculture farm is the foundation of Arivuthottam.
The farm demonstrates practical methods of natural, organic and environmentally sustainable agriculture.
Visitors and trainees are able to observe and understand these practices directly in the field.
