Valuable words of Maharshi on teacher's day.
(Courtesy: Urs Strobel Ashutosh Swami Ji at Anamay Ashram, Kausani Estate, Uttarakhand,India). These beautiful expressions are excerpts from an interview with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi done by Mr. Ramakrishna, from The Hindu Paper in Kerala...
"Maharishi-ji, in last conference you spoke about the importance of Himalayas. It's also said in the olden days people used to go to the Himalayas for meditation and gyan (knowledge). Do the Himalayas still have a spiritual value?"
Maharishi: "Himalayas will always remain Himalayas. They'll always be on top of the world. Himalayas will always be the guiding light of purity, of affluence, of gaining authority in Nature.
There are about a hundred of single men, living a life of meditation, and celibacy (brahmacharya), we call them, Purusha. They are practicing Transcendental Meditation, and its advanced programmes, including yogic flying. They are gaining command over Prakriti (the laws of nature). Prakriti is the Daivi Shakti (Divine energy), which functions for the individual as the individual Purusha value inside, witnessing value, self-referral value. This Purusha value increases in daily life with the practice of deep meditation, and knowledge.
Uttar Kashi is a place where my master Guru Dev, and his own master have been. It's a fountainhead of pure knowledge. One cannot sing the glory of the Himalayas enough. And throughout the ages, Vedic literature is full of the glory of the Himalayas: Gangotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Rishikesh. Beautiful, beautiful fortune of the people that takes them on pilgrimage, year after year β¦ thousands, millions of the people. They go there to breath a few breaths of peace and happiness and satisfaction. They have a glimpse of it, And they rise in Atma Vigyan (knowledge of pure consciousness), in Brahma Vigyan (knowledge of the Self).
It's a very fortunate thing to be going to the Himalayas from time to time. It's a different world. One cannot describe in words. Yatho vacho nivartante. Tad dharma parama mama--"That is my abode", says the Lord, "from where speech returns". Sahasrakshara parame vyoman "Transcendental is that field". Shivam shantam advaitam chaturtam manyante, sa atma, sa vigyeya. "That is the Self, the Atma, which is absolute silence, Shivato, which is the source of all dynamism". It's a very complete culture of life for supreme state of evolution Brahmi Chetana, Unity Consciousness.
Something that is real to life is housed in the Himalayan heights: peace eternal. And peace eternal is the basis of all possible dynamism in human awareness. That is why the concept is Yogasthah kurukarmani, "Established in Yoga, established in Unity Consciousness, perform action." Beautiful philosophy of practical life.
We are building ashrams in different parts of the Himalayas for the busy people of the world to have a chance to go some time there, and refresh their soul, refresh their intellect, refresh their body, and mind. More relaxed, and enlightened individuals whose speech and behavior will be the guiding light for human existence. It's very beautiful.
Yes, Himalaya means heaven...jiyhratateatetd nd
