மாம்பழ சீசன் ஆரம்பித்துள்ளதால் தற்காலிகமாக கோம்பைக் கச்சேரி நிறுத்தப்படுகிறது. சீசன் முடிந்ததும் தொடர்வோம்.

அழகி.

ஒரு நல்ல கோம்பை பெண். உடல் கட்டமைப்பு, உள்ளுணர்வு — அனைத்திலும் சிறப்பானவள்.

ஆனால் நாங்கள் இவளை இனப்பெருக்கம் செய்யப் போவதில்லை.

ஏன்?

ஒரு காலை இழந்திருக்கிறாள்.

ஒரு காலை இழந்தாலும், அழகி தனது உள்ளுணர்வை இழக்கவில்லை.

இயற்கை “அழகை” தேர்வு செய்யாது. “வாழும் திறனை” தான் தேர்வு செய்கிறது.

வாழும் திறன் — இனம் பெருக்கும் தகுதி அல்ல -
என்று நாம் முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம்.

ஆனால் இயற்கை என்ன முடிவு செய்திருக்கிறது என்று யாருக்குத் தெரியும்.

வழக்கமான Kennel setup போல் அல்லாமல், ஒரு பண்ணையின் சூழலில் வளரும் நாய்களை குறிக்கிறது.

எமது அனுபவத்தின்வழி பெறும் புரிதல்:

மாமரங்கள் கனி கொடுத்து கோம்பையொடு கொஞ்சும்!

சிவகங்கை மாவட்டத்தின் தெறிக்கும் பங்குனி மாத மத்தியான வெயில். அகணியின் வறண்ட நிலத்தின் மாந்தோப்பு.

வயதான ஒரு கோம்பை நாய். வீட்டில் ஓய்வு எடுக்காமல் தோட்டத்தை சுற்றி வருகிறது. காவல் காக்கிறது. கண்காணிக்கிறது.
சோதனை செய்கிறது.

உடலியல் ரீதியான சிரமங்கள் இருந்தாலும் எந்த தயக்கமும் இல்லாமல் வேலை செய்கிறது.

இதற்கென எந்த பயிற்சிகளும் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை.
ஆனால் தனது உள்ளுணர்வாலேயே செயல்படுகிறது .

அதுதான் கோம்பை.

தன்னுணர்வுச் செயல்பாட்டில் மேதமையானவை கோம்பை நாய்கள்.

வசதியான வாழ்க்கைகளுக்காக உருவாகவில்லை.
வேலைக்காக உருவானவை.

Midday heat.

📌 அகணி பண்ணையில் ஏன் குட்டிகள் அரிதாகவே கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன?

கடந்த 15+ ஆண்டுகளாக, நாங்கள் கோம்பை நாய்களுடன் வேலை செய்து வருகிறோம்—
kennel-களைப் போலல்லாமல் காடு போன்ற விவசாய பண்ணையின் சூழலில் குறைந்தபட்ச மனிதக் குறுக்கீடுகளுடன் நாய்கள் சுதந்திரமாக வளர்கின்றன.

சுதந்திரமாக நாய்களை வளர்ப்பதன் மூலம், ஆதியில் விவசாயிகளால் வளர்க்கப்பட்ட கோம்பை நாய்களைப் போன்ற பண்பு நலன்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவதை அவதானித்து ஆவணப்படுத்தி, செழுமைப்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் மீள் உருவாக்கம் செய்கிறோம்.

இதில் ஒரு விஷயம் தெளிவாகப் புரிந்தது:
Kombai ஒரு “breed” இல்லை.
தனது உயிர் பிழைத்திருக்கும் திறனால் மெருகேறிய ஒரு உள்ளூர் நாய்.

ஆனால் சமகாலத்தில் நாய்களின் உருவம், தோற்றம், அவற்றின் அளவு மற்றும் Aggression காக மட்டுமே, கோம்பை நாய்கள் Breed செய்யப்படுகிறது.

அதனால் உள்ளுணர்வு instinct, நிலைத்தன்மை stability, மீத்தன்மை resilience போன்ற முக்கியமான விடயங்கள் மெல்ல மெல்ல மறைந்து போகிறது.

கோம்பை எனும் நாயை பாதுகாக்க ஒவ்வொருவரும் வெவ்வேறு வழிமுறைகளைப் பின்பற்றுகின்றனர். சிலர் இனப்பெருக்கம் செய்து குட்டிகள் கொடுப்பதன் மூலம் பரவலாக்கம் செய்கின்றனர். சிலர் Showக்களில் கலந்து கொள்வதன் மூலம் கோம்பையை மக்களிடம் கொண்டு சேர்க்கின்றனர். அனைவரையும் அகணி பண்ணை வாழ்த்துகிறது.

மற்றவர்களைப் போல் அன்றி அகணி பண்ணை முற்றிலும் வேறு விதமான பாதையை தேர்ந்தெடுத்தது.

அதுதான் conservation மூலமாக preserve செய்வது. அதற்கான வழிமுறைகளை செயல்படுத்தி வருகிறது.

எனவே அகணி பண்ணையில் கமர்சியல் பிரீடிங் செய்யப்படுவதில்லை.

மார்க்கெட் தேவைக்காக குட்டிகள் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படுவதில்லை.

எப்பொழுதேனும் சில குட்டிகள் மட்டும் கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன.
அதுவும் சரியான வளர்ப்புச் சூழல் (farm / open land) இருந்தால் மட்டுமே.

அகணி பண்ணைக்கு , இது ஒரு business model இல்லை.
இது ஒரு responsibility.

ஏனெனில் நாங்கள் விவசாயிகள்.
எங்களுக்கு தெரியும்—
குறைந்தபட்ச மனிதக் குறுக்கீடுகளுடன் ஒரு நாய் வாழ்ந்து உயிர் பிழைத்திருப்பதே முக்கியம், குட்டிகள் விற்பதல்ல நோக்கம்.

📌 Why We Rarely Place Kombai Puppies

For over 15 years, we've raised Kombai dogs the way they were always meant to live — free-ranging on farmland, in a forest-like setting, with minimal human interference.

This isn't a kennel. It's a living conservation effort.

Through close observation, we've come to understand something important:
Kombai is not a breed. It is a landrace — shaped by survival.

Today, many Kombai dogs are being selected for size, looks, and aggression. In the process, what truly defines them — their instinct, stability, and resilience — is quietly disappearing.

At Akani Farms, we've chosen a different role.

Not shows. Not commercial breeding. Not market-driven litters.

Our path is conservation through preservation — documented, field-based, and rooted in farming values.

Puppies are placed only occasionally, and only in open farm environments where they can truly thrive.

We don't see this as a business.
We see it as a responsibility.

Because as farmers, we know this well:
A dog's ability to live and survive on its own terms matters far more than the number of puppies sold.
