Idli Arisi Murukku

Again the authentic deepawali recipe from my home 💕

Ingredients
Boiled rice 4cup
Pottukadalai 1cup
Urad dal less than ½cup
Til
Ajwain
Red chillies
Butter lemon size
Salt
Oil for frying

Method
> Wash and soak rice for 4 hrs
> Roast the urad dal till it turns golden brown, once cool powder & sieve
> Powder the pottukadalai (chutney dal) & sieve
> Now grind the rice into nice paste. (Dont add too much water)
> Powder/grind the chillies & add to the rice batter and grind
> once done take out
> Add pottukadalai and urad powders along with ajwain, til & salt
> add the butter & make a loose dough.
> grease the mould with oil & add batter, squeese into hot oil
> Store in a air tight container

Tip: inbetween add a spoon of hot oil if the dough becomes dry

Rava coconut ladoo!!
Yeah toh daaye haath ka khel hai 😄

Ingredients
Rava 1kg
Sugar ½kg or lil less
Coconut big 2nos
Buffalo milk (thick) ½lit
Cashews 100grm
Elaichi powder 1tsp
Ghee 2-3 tbsp
Salt a pinch

Method
> in a kadai add lil ghee then roast broken cashews and keep aside
> again add lil ghee and roast the sooji till you get good aroma & keep aside (do not make it brown)
> again add ghee and roast the grated coconut
> now mix all the ingredients together
> meanwhile boil the milk, should be real hot.
> now add the milk lil by lil to the mix and make Ladoo
> enjoy the delicious sweet with this deepawali 😊

Athirasam
Its typical authentic sweet..
We never celebrated the deepawali without athirasam & murukku..

Ingredients
Raw rice 1kg
Jaggery ¾kg
Til
Elaichi

Recipe
>Clean and soak 1kg raw rice..
>Rinse, drain water and spread it under shade in a cloth .. and make lil course powder.. usually we use traditional stone chekku.. now a days they do it in chakki or in mixie..
>¾kg Jaggery make nice powder and messure to make syrup.. that is the twist part..
>It has to stick in both fingers like string when you touch.. (One string) that is the right stage.
>Add elaichi powder in that rice flour
>Slowly add the flour to the jaggery syrup and mix without lump..
>Thickness should be like vada batter.
>It will become more tight..due to jaggery syrup
>if its too thin then add lil more rice flour, if its too thick add jaggery syrup..so simple😁
>Leave outside for couple of days.. actually it gives more tastes..
Then carefully make vada and put it in hot oil in medium flame.. then pressure and take out the excess oil..
Can store for a week or fortnight (by then it will finish)

Dry Roast
200 grm (வெந்தயம் ) fenugreek
100 grm கருஞ்சீரகம் (black cumin) kindly check the names in google
50 grm ajwan.. (ஓமம்)
Powder this and store in container
Have a spoon before sleep with warm water..
Its a very good remedy for diabetic..

If you add cauliflower or boiled potatoes it will be almost in nonveg flavor..😄
Another plus point is you can make this with left over coconut chutney. No one can makeout.. 🤫
This colour also a beautiful orangish..🧡

Recipe
Grind/fine paste
1cup coconut, 1/2 cup (பொட்டுக்கடலை ) chutney dal, green chilli, ginger, garlic3 pods, salt
Keep 1/2of the paste aside for chutney(2in1)😊

Then add 2 to 3 tomatoes,
khus khus 1/2 ysp,
saunf,
clove 1,
elaichi 1,
cinnamon lil..
grind again..
Thalippu: mustard, urad split, curry leaves, sliced onion, green chilli, manjal (yellow)powder and dhania powder 1table spoon then add this paste to the kadai.. add water according to your requirements.. stir well or else it will get stuck at the bottom..
Now add boiled potato pieces or if you want to add cauliflower then you should add while adding onions an chillies..
Thats all.. let it boil in medium flam.. once the raw smell goes, you can add fresh curry leaves and enjoy with idli or dosa..
Mean time put tadka for the coconut chutney.. remember we kept half paste in the beginning..

Method
> In cooker add cleaned & washed murungai keerai
coarsly grind
> add tomato
> ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
> few cloves Garlic
> 4 Shallots few
> add rock salt
> give one whistle
>strain and season with salt and pepper.
>Serve hot.

This healthy dish is made out of urad dal flour and curd. Its a easy and very quick recipe.

Usually we have with variety rice, vaththal kulambu or any spicy kulambu 😊

Method
> Roast handful urad dal into golden colour
> once its cool, powder it and keep (can store too )
> meanwhile if ypu want tou csn add shallow fried ladies finger (optional)
> Take curd add lil water, whisk little
> add thalippu with mustard, finely chopped green chill, fresh curry leaves and asafoetida
> now add everything to the curd
> finally add the queen of the dish... The urad dal powder
> check salt
> enjoy this with your favorite rice
