Linga Bhairavi Organic is a leading organic shop* in Medavakkam, Chennai and as part of *Organic Farmer Market (OFM)*. We are running a *100% plastic free- organic* shop in Medavakkam.
We keep ensuring *100% authentic organic products to consumers*
*OFM is a collective initiative by a group of organic farming enthusiasts with the aim to:*
- Guarantee consistent, continuous availability of safe food to all
- Ensure fair pricing of organic products at farmer and consumer end
- Protect the livelihoods of organic farmers
- Spread awareness on safe food and current agricultural practices/malpractices
- Transparency and traceability.
*OFM’s stringent purchase policy encapsulates its commitment to ensure that our customers have access to safe food that is free from synthetic inputs.*
Snapshot of the policy is given below:
- Know your farmer: OFM products sources are traceable to the farm/farmer where it was grown.
- Each farmer is audited by at least 2 OFM members before any product is purchased.
Processing is also reviewed to eliminate the possibility of contamination. Surprise/random checks are done periodically.
- OFM will not buy from traders or large brands; while it will leverage small organic farmers and cooperatives
- Zero tolerance for chemical contamination in any form at production, processing & packing
- Customer feedback is taken seriously, and any complaints will be appraised
*Our journey*
After doing many volunteering activities with organic farmers in their field during 2012 to 2013 and got much awareness from organic activists like Nammalvar Iyya, Ananthoo na and many senior most organic farmers. We have visited around 50 to 100 organic farmers in their field. We have dedicatedly spent most of the weekdays and weekends to ensure 100% authentic organic produce. We understand the difficulties in farming and the suffering of selling their organic produce.
We initiated a small store in Feb 2014 with very minimal products to support organic farmers and help to bring their organic produce who really needed to consume in and around. In this long journey we have learnt a lot from consumers as well as from farmers.
Now we are stepping into 12th year in our journey. We are happy to launch online service to enrich and support more organic farmers and their produce.
*Online*
Now we are introducing the online platform *“Swiggy Minis”* to easily place orders online from your side and we can send products to home directly based on orders with applicable porter charges. This will help us to increase more orders and to support more new farmers in the backend.
Now we have packed with *250+ products including 30+ varieties of traditional rices (Raw and Boiled rices, Hand pounded rices, red rices, Semi polished rices), unpolished millets, Pulses and Cereals, Flours, Avals, Dry fruit & Nuts, Edible Cooking oils (extracted from organically grown seeds), Spices, Sweeteners, Traditional Snacks, Herbals & Beverages, Wild Ideas Soaps & HouseHold Items, Value Added Items, Podi Items, Doodle Soaps, Pickles*.
All the products’ photos, relevant posters and writeup about products have been categorized and placed in *Swiggy Minis* online app. All the product details are available in the link below. Kindly follow the link and place the order. You can also widely circulate this to your apartment admin, neighbors, friends and families. This will really be helpful to support more organic farmers.
