Happy Sunday everyone 👋

Busy here pruning these organic grapes. We need to cut out about 50% of the fruit clusters to allow the remaining ones to get big and juicy. Sounds wasteful but a handful of big bunches is better than loads of mini ones.

Bit of a mad thing to be doing on a cold, wet June day in Ireland. I'm confident the sun will shine soon.Only optimistists survive in this game 🤞☀️☀️☀️

Organic garlic harvest in full swing. As we pick each one we quickly trim the roots and upper foliage. This "trash" or garlic straw we leave behind us on the bed as a type of mulch. Within the next week we'll be planting spinach, kale and lettuce through this mulch into the bed. We've discovered, through laziness, that the aroma of the left behind garlic is fantastic at deterring rabbits and pigeons from eating the next crop. It mulch also helps maintain moisture, suppress weeds, and once fully decomposed will feed the soil. This is organic growing. And it's beautiful 🙌
