Our Artist for November is Mallory. Mallory is a multidisciplinary artist with a love of textiles, fabrics and found materials. Mallory takes an environmentally conscious approach to her work, using second-hand materials and giving new life to things that might otherwise be thrown away. Her pieces bring together different textures, colours and materials, often inspired by the art of collage. Working slowly and mostly by hand, Mallory lets the materials guide her, allowing each piece to develop naturally. She’s inspired by a traditional Japanese philosophy that every object has its own life and deserves to be treated with care and respect. We love the thought and creativity behind Mallory’s work, and we’re delighted to be showcasing her art at the café this November. This is just a small selection of the work she has in the café - we look forward to you enjoying her pieces during the month.

An intimate musical evening in the café with soprano Elva MacGowan and esteemed musicians Martin Tourish of Altan on piano accordion, Drazen Derek on guitar and Dave Fleming on double bass for an evening of Baroque and traditional music from Italy, Mexico and beyond, including special performances of Tourish’s own compositions.
