FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FEMALE LDEA OFFICER ARRESTED IN GRAND GEDEH WITH 26 BOXES OF TRAMADOL AND 8.23KG OF KUSH

GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, Liberia — October 25, 2026: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), through its Grand Gedeh County Detachment, has arrested Kolubah Coleman, 44, an officer assigned to the Agency’s Maryland County Detachment, for alleged illegal possession of narcotic substances.

Coleman was arrested aboard a maroon pickup truck bearing license plate A53809 during an intelligence-led vehicle search. The search reportedly uncovered 26 boxes of Tramadol valued at LRD 520,000 (approximately US$2,786.64) and 8.23 kilograms of suspected Kush valued at LRD 31,274 (approximately US$164.60).

Following preliminary investigation, Coleman was reportedly charged with illegal possession of narcotics and forwarded to court for prosecution.

The LDEA reiterates its zero-tolerance stance on illicit drugs and drug-related offenses, regardless of rank, position, or affiliation. The Agency emphasizes that no one is above the law, including its own personnel, and that every individual suspected of violating Liberia’s drug laws will be subject to the appropriate legal process.

The Agency remains firmly committed to impartial enforcement, institutional accountability, and the fight against illicit drugs throughout Liberia.

The LDEA calls on the public to remain vigilant and report suspected drug-related activities through its official hotlines: 0777-133-333 / 0888-133-333.

I am not defending the little girl for her disrespect, but we must separate emotions from the law.

1. IDENTIFYING LEILA: Simply saying “Leila” does not automatically mean a particular person. To establish defamation or insult, there must be evidence that the statement was directed at the complainant. However, the full name does not always have to be mentioned if other evidence identifies the person.

2. THE 5,000 LD BOUNTY: Offering money publicly for people to find a minor could put the child's safety at risk and potentially expose the person who posted it to legal consequences.

3. POSSIBLE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES: Depending on the evidence and applicable Liberian law, the person who posted the bounty could face allegations involving intimidation, harassment, child endangerment, or civil liability if harm results.

4. THE RIGHT WAY TO SEEK JUSTICE: Report the matter to the Liberia National Police (LNP), contact the child's parents, and allow the authorities to handle the situation instead of encouraging the public to search for the child.

MY FINAL POINT: Disrespect is wrong, but taking the law into your own hands is also wrong. Nobody should put a price on a child's head. Seek justice through the proper legal channels and protect the child's safety.
