Day one of covering the orchard 2026. The covers protect the cherries from the birds and when the cherries are ready it protects them from the rain, which can cause splitting.

The trees are at different stages. Kordia and Regina = full bloom. Lapin, Merchant and Belise = fruitlets. It’s such a joy to see the cherries grow, unfortunately the pigeons also think so! Can you spot where some fruitlets once were?!? The pigeons enjoy them and the new leaf…….
