Tomorrow we finally open the doors to Kiln.

A little shop built around the things we love most — pottery, coffee, good food and bringing people together.

Kate’s been making the pottery, while I’ve been in the kitchen baking cakes, making sandwiches and somehow after months of planning, building, testing and long days… it’s finally real.

It’s definitely been more of a challenge and a slower process than we first imagined, especially with our son Toby arriving 7 weeks ago. But we also made a conscious decision to slow down and spend that precious time with him while building this place together, and we wouldn’t change that for the world.

We’re so grateful for all the support we’ve had getting here, and we honestly can’t wait to welcome you in.

WE ARE HIRING 🤎

We’re on the lookout for a brilliant all-rounder to join our team.

This role is perfect for someone who loves variety and wants to get stuck into a bit of everything. Your days could include:
☕ Making great coffee (we’ll train you!)
🥪 Creating fresh sandwiches and salads
🏺 Working in our pottery studio — weighing clay & glazing pots

There’s also the chance to pick up extra shifts with our outside catering team at events and evening jobs, if that’s your thing.

But more than anything, we’re looking for the right person.
Someone warm, welcoming, and naturally great with people. Someone who can juggle tasks, take initiative, and keep things running smoothly, all with a smile.

We’re a small, family business and we genuinely love what we do. We’re hoping to find someone (or a few people!) who want to be part of that.

Hi everyone 👋

I’m looking to offer some simple, hands-on cooking sessions in local schools.

After 20 years working as a chef, I’d really love to do something more community-focused — helping kids actually cook, not just learn about food.

The idea would be relaxed sessions where they make simple things from scratch — flatbreads, salads, seasonal dishes — building confidence and enjoying the process.

If you’re a teacher, parent, or involved with a local school and think this could be a good fit, I’d really appreciate you getting in touch or pointing me in the right direction.
