A couple of days ago, this incredible photo of a hare was captured at our farm in Duddon, where we breed our cattle.

It’s moments like this that remind us how lucky we are to work in the countryside and share the landscape with such amazing wildlife.

Say hello to indulgence! This week’s star at the farm shop is Montagnolo Affine - a luxurious, triple-crème blue cheese from the Allgäu region of Bavaria, Germany.

With the creamy richness of a brie and the subtle bite of a blue, Montagnolo is hand-rolled in mould culture to form its signature grey rind and matured slowly using a special cold-ripening method. The result? A soft, buttery texture with just the right touch of piquant blue. 💙

Well... this week it’s not actually a pie! 😄

We’re shining the spotlight on one of our most popular favourites – our homemade Sausage Roll.

What makes it extra special? The pork comes straight from our own farm shop before being wrapped in golden, flaky pastry and baked fresh on-site right here at Rose Farm.

Locally sourced, freshly baked, and packed full of flavour, it’s a firm favourite with customers for good reason.

Perfect for lunch on the go, a quick snack, or taking home to enjoy with the family. Just like our pies, they’re made with care using quality ingredients and baked fresh right here at Rose Farm.

Today is Open Farm Sunday, a fantastic national event celebrating British farming and helping people learn more about where their food comes from. Across the country, farms are opening their gates to connect visitors with farming, food production and the countryside.

While we’re not hosting an Open Farm Sunday event this year, Rose Farm is proud to offer visitors the opportunity to experience a little bit of farm life all year round.

Our farm shop is open every day, and you’re always welcome to enjoy our Farm Walk, where you can see some of our animals and enjoy the countryside at your own pace. We believe it’s important for people to stay connected to farming and understand where their food comes from.

Whether you’re popping in for your weekly shop, visiting the animals, or simply enjoying a walk around the farm, we’d love to see you.

Well... a month ago we asked you to guess whether our newest Highland calf was a boy or a girl... and many of you got it right! 💙

Meet our handsome little Highland lad, now 1 month old! ✨

He’s growing fast, getting fluffier by the day, and has already mastered the art of melting hearts with those big eyes and that adorable shaggy fringe. 🥹

We can’t get enough of watching him explore the farm, bounce around the field, and snuggle up with Mum. Safe to say he’s become a firm favourite with both visitors and the team! ❤️

What makes it extra special? The pork comes straight from our own farm shop, and each pie is handcrafted on-site by the talented team at ’The Bakery at Rose Farm.’ (Our independent onsite bakery business).

Locally reared pork, expertly baked just a few steps away, and packed full of flavour – it doesn’t get much more local than that.

Perfect for lunch, picnics, or simply enjoyed with your favourite chutney and a good cup of tea.
