🌊 Celtic Sea Salt is Back in Stock! 🌊
Great news! Celtic Sea Salt has returned to our shelves, and we also now have shakers available for your convenience.
Did you know Celtic salt naturally contains a range of trace minerals, including:
✨ Magnesium
✨ Potassium
✨ Calcium
✨ Iron
✨ Zinc
These naturally occurring minerals are one reason many people enjoy using Celtic salt as a more natural alternative to highly refined table salt. Some people also add a small pinch to water to help support hydration and electrolyte balance, especially after exercise or on warm days. 💧
♻️ Refills are also available — bring your container and top up!
Pop in and grab yours at New Leaf 🍃

As part of my New Year’s resolution not to buy any clothes in 2026, I’ve been learning a new skill.
I’ve started sewing lessons and clothes making with the amazing
Honestly, it’s felt like learning a new language at times, but I’m absolutely loving it. The teacher Becky is so lovely and encouraging, which makes such a difference when you’re learning something completely new. I’m also really proud of the confidence it’s given me.

It’s far from perfect, but this weekend I replaced broken zips on two pairs of my jeans – something I would never have thought I'd be able to do before!

I really want to do my part to avoid fast fashion and also teach my girls the value of looking after what we already have and challenge the rule of R!
Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle.

And if you do want something a bit special, there are some brilliant places where you can buy good-quality, pre-loved clothes. One of my favourites is – a fantastic shop with beautiful vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces. You also get great styling advice there, which makes finding something special even more fun.

This ̇nternationalwomensday we celebrate women whose voice changed the world.

Dr. Jane Goodall showed us that compassion, curiosity, and courage can transform how humanity sees animals and our planet.
Through her groundbreaking work with chimpanzees and her lifelong dedication to conservation, she helped millions understand the deep connection between humans, animals, and the fragile ecosystems we all share.
Her message is simple but powerful: every individual matters, and every action makes a difference. 🌍🐾

Today, we honour her legacy—and all the women who continue to stand up for animals, nature, and a kinder future.

Overfishing of krill is destroying precious ecosystems. Super trawlers are following and mimicking whales, taking food straight out of their feeding grounds. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

Krill is a crucial part of the Antarctic food web. Whales, seals, penguins, and many seabirds depend on them to survive. When industrial fishing removes huge quantities, it puts entire ecosystems at risk.

But together, we can make a difference. Say NO to krill-based products. There are sustainable alternatives available, such as algae-based omega oils, that don’t take food away from wildlife.
If you can, please support . They are currently in Antarctic, documenting what is happening, and it can not be easy to witness. Raising awareness and holding the industry accountable matters.
Please think carefully about the choices we make as consumers — and choose the option that protects our oceans and, ultimately, our planet 🌊🐋

Today is National Polar Bear Day — a reminder that our small choices connect to something much bigger.

In the Arctic, polar bears depend on sea ice as their hunting ground. But as climate change shrinks and thins that ice, they’re forced to swim longer distances and spend more time on land, often without access to their natural prey. Their world is quite literally melting beneath them.

The food chain there is delicate. Krill feed the fish, the fish feed the seals, and seals sustain the polar bear. When we overfish or harvest krill for supplements, the impact travels all the way up that pyramid.

But we have choices.
Instead of relying on marine sources for omega-3, we can turn to powerful plant alternatives like chia seeds, flaxseeds (linseeds), and walnuts — some of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3 (ALA). Algae is another incredible option, providing the same essential omega-3s without putting pressure on fragile ocean ecosystems.

Protecting polar bears starts far beyond the Arctic.
It starts with awareness. With intention. With the choices we make every day.
Small shifts. Big impact. 🐻‍❄️🌍

you can have the way to change - stop selling krill oil products!

Plastic Free Shopping / Zero Waste Living

Plastic pollution has become one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues, as rapidly increasing production of disposable plastic products & their packaging overwhelms the world’s ability to deal with them. Recent and ongoing media coverage and debate surrounding plastic pollution, climate change and the increasing threat that industry poses on natural life on earth (and human health) has made the whole world increasingly aware of the effects that plastic and microplastic pollution.

Despite being ever more aware, the vast majority of the UK population does not yet benefit from the luxury of choice (plastic free or not) when purchasing everyday groceries and consumables. Currently for individual people to make a small difference it takes a big effort. At New Leaf our aim is to make it a very small effort for an individual to make a huge difference.

New Leaf – is a local store where our goal is to allow customers to buy all of their daily or weekly groceries and household essentials, but where plastic packaging is a thing of the past and in most cases so is packaging full stop.

We source our carefully selected products from like minded local suppliers where packaging is minimised or eliminated and always reused or recycled. Customers dispense individually desired amounts of every day products in to their own containers which are re-used over and over. Local supply also minimises the carbon footprint of the goods we sell.
