**THE MOBILE BUTCHER VAN – WEEK 1 ROUTE**

Fresh meat, great value, and friendly service brought directly to your neighbourhood.

Please check the Week 1 schedule and make a note of when we'll be visiting your area.

Listen out for the Pink Panther tune as we arrive – that's your cue that the van is nearby and fully stocked with fresh meat, sausages, bacon, pies, and all your butcher's favourites.

Your support really does make a difference. Every purchase helps keep this local service on the road and allows us to continue bringing quality produce to communities across Plymouth.

A quick update for our Wednesday customers: we're trialling some new locations this week after a number of previous stops unfortunately didn't attract enough regular custom to make them sustainable. If you're nearby, we'd be grateful if you could call in and support the van while we assess these new locations.

**UPDATE** **BACK ON THE ROAD***
The van has had to return to the shop @ 12 noon today as there was an issue with the refrigeration unit. It will undergo some repairs and then we hope to get it back out today. We will keep you posted. 🤞

The 2013 rules on “ice cream van chimes” are now being used against **mobile butcher vans** — even though we provide an **essential service**.

We serve:
✔️ Elderly customers
✔️ Vulnerable adults
✔️ People in supported living
✔️ Those who can’t physically get to shops

We TRY to keep a timetable—but real life doesn’t work like that anymore. Care schedules change. Demand changes. Traffic happens.

So here’s the question:
👉 **How are people supposed to know we’re there without a simple sound signal?**

Not everyone uses smartphones. Not everyone checks Facebook.
For many of our customers, **hearing the van is the only way they know food has arrived.**

This isn’t about noise—this is about **access to food and independence**.

📢 We’re calling for:

* Fair rules for essential mobile food services
* Common-sense use of sound signals
* Protection for services supporting vulnerable people
