Hi
This is Helen, Caitlyns mum. Her dad and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have welcomed Caitlyn into the Olney community. As sad as we are that the shop is closing tomorrow, we are very excited for Caitlyn’s future. To start this shop at the very young age of 18 is so commendable. I’m sure you all know her story, but for those who don’t, after amazing A level results and University offers Caitlyn felt that uni wasn’t for her and was passionate about helping the environment so asked for our support in setting up a zero waste shop. I think timing has been a huge factor in why the shop hasn’t succeeded, first there was the new omicron covid variant last January which stopped lots of people coming to the high street, and now we are all going though the cost of living crisis. I know Caitlyn has felt very lonely at times in the shop as some days she hardly saw anyone. For someone so young that was hard. She is going to be working in our other family business, also helping the environment The Green Way Solar. At the end of this year, Caitlyn is going to spend a few months in Australia to do some much desired and deserved traveling. I’m sure you will all miss her and join us in wishing her all the luck in the world.

Caitlyn we know it’s been tough at times but we are SO PROUD OF YOU!! You deserve the world xx

We have some sad news; unfortunately we are closing our shop on Saturday 25th February😣 With rising costs and a decrease in High Street footfall, it is no longer viable to continue, and with more uncertainty and unpredictability in the next few months/years, we believe this is the right time to close. Everything in the shop will now be on sale with 40% off starting from tomorrow!

I have loved every day in the shop serving the people of Olney and surrounding areas, and it’s been a pleasure to get to know so many lovely people!

I started this business when I was 18 and I can take a lot from this experience moving forward in my life! It was a good challenge that I am so happy me and my family took!
