SPRING LANE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - MONDAY 8TH JUNE

We've just been made aware from Via East Midlands of a temporary road closure along Spring Lane on Monday 8th June for patchwork resurfacing👷🚧🚦

Our Café will still be OPEN AS NORMAL from 9am-5pm, but please access our site from the mini roundabout junction at Mapperley Plains.

If you're coming to us from the Lambley direction, you will need to divert via Catfoot Lane and along Mapperley Plains or divert via Lambley Lane and Gedling Access Road to rejoin with Mapperley Plains.

We were absolutely delighted to welcome His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire Professor Veronica Pickering MBS HAC and Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Alison Bingham Crabb to Spring Lane Farm this morning to share with them our newest venture, The Old Parlour Café.

We enjoyed a coffee in our on-site Café which opened in December 2025 where we shared our journey from an innocent idea over family coffee time back in 2020, to the project first breaking ground in June 2024 to now proudly serving home produced and locally sourced food and drink to our wonderful customers everyday! 🍽️☕️

It was lovely to take a moment and reflect on the progression of our family farming business over the last 87 years, as we have constantly tried to grow and improve our site, all whilst innovating, expanding and learning along the way!

It was really lovely to welcome you both to the farm, thank you for calling in and thank you for your very kind compliments on the Café & Farm Shop decor and the friendly service from our staff team! ☺️

From 31 acres (12.8 hectares) of grass on our first cut for 2026 we managed to wrap 209 bales.

Three people guessed the answer correctly, we have decided to award each of them with their own £25 BBQ Pack to enjoy!

The winners have been sent a direct message from us so if you guessed correctly, keep an eye out on your inbox for details on how to collect your prize!

Thank you everyone for playing along, we definitely didn’t expect to be checking through 1224 comments! The lowest guess was 82 bales and the highest guess was 340! (maybe a little out of our 100-300 bale guide!) Hopefully we can bring some more quirky competitions to win more prizes from our barbecue range this summer!

Our £25 Barbecue Packs will be available again this weekend to purchase from our Butchery counter. Each Barbecue pack contains:
