We SO missed seeing everyone today, from our wonderful volunteers and set up team, traders and charity stalls, musicians and dancers, visitors, customers, friends and hounds - we really missed that Treacle Market atmosphere today. It's hard work behind the scenes to prepare a monthly market on this scale, but unfortunately these things happen and the weather is out of our control. We hope traders have had a great day whether they've chosen to work or rest, and we hope those of you at home still support them online if possible (you can view a previous post to find the list of October traders).
We'll resume regular posting - no moaning about the wind - this week, and we'll look forward to being back on the cobbles on 29th November for Christmas shopping!

REMINDER - OCTOBER TREACLE MARKET IS CANCELLED

Please visit our previous posts to see a list of stalls who would have traded at the October Treacle Market.
Check in with your favourite traders to see how to support them tomorrow - some have discounts online, are making local deliveries, have pop ups at their dairies and farms, are being supported by local businesses here in Macclesfield or popping up in various spots. These pop ups and mini markets are being organised by the businesses and shops involved, so please get in touch with them directly.
We're going to miss seeing everyone! We'll be back Sunday 29th November.

Treacle Market is cancelled this Sunday due to severe weather warnings. BUT you can still support traders and local businesses from the safety of your sofa. We've shared a list of Octobers stall holders HOWEVER not all have websites, social media or have private contact details. If you have any questions about a stall holder and trader, please message us directly or email and we will try to help. We'd love for you to continue to support our wonderful town and the independent businesses, cafes, bars, shops and restaurants who will all feel impacted by this cancellation, but please only venture out if it's safe to do so. We appreciate everyone's support and understanding.

ANNOUNCEMENT - we've had to make the very difficult decision to cancel this Sunday's Treacle Market, 25th October.
Due to the impending storm, it just wouldn't be safe to continue with our large outdoor market.
We have monitored all possible weather announcements, but have chosen to announce early for our traders to plan accordingly etc. but this is an inevitable decision.
Please read through the images for some answers to frequently asked questions!
We will post a list of October traders shortly, and hope you can continue to support them.
If it's safe to do so Sunday, please continue to support our town and high street also.
Everyone's safety is our top priority and we thank you all for your support and understanding.

MARKET NOW CANCELLED

Don't forget the clocks go back this weekend, which means more rest ready for a busy day of shopping! We can't wait to find lots of autumnal and seasonal produce, spooky makes and Halloween treats. There's always something new to discover, so we'll be taking our time, browsing amongst the streets of stalls and ready to rummage amongst vintage and antique finds. Working up an appetite is no problem when there's loads of delicious food at every turn and even more to discover on our high street. Phew, it's a busy day, and we can't wait! Don't forget to wrap up warm, spooky dress up always encouraged!
Join us from 10am - 3.30pm with 140+ stalls, music, entertainment and so much more. It's a jam packed day of great stuff!

A Sunday bus service is available around Macclesfield. Parking is available at numerous spots (please check closing hours of the multi-storey if you choose to park there and time constraints on others) - all within very close distance to various entrance parts of the market. Disabled parking is available throughout town too, with the market accessible to all. Please do research yourselves where would be suitable for your own needs and timings.
Don't forget the businesses on our high street, museum, parks, cafes, restaurants and so much more - it's a busy day in Macclesfield, please do opt to stay for a while and make the most of a fantastic day out!

THIS SUNDAY! Get Halloween ready and shop at Treacle Market 🎃 Grab your reusable shopping bags, tell your friends you'll meet them for breakfast first, lunch in-between and a roast after, get excited about seasonal produce, refill the greeting card drawer and pick up locally inspired artwork, find new candle scents and new ceramics, old specialist tools and vintage trinkets, books and clothing, cheeses and pickles, jewellery and woodwork, plan to browse round the high street shops too and stop by a cafe or pub or restaurant, enjoy a whole day on the cobbles, and dare we say, start some Christmas shopping too?! We can't wait for Treacle Market THIS Sunday!

EDIT - MARKET NOW CANCELLED

Not too long to wait now, Treacle Market is back Sunday 25th October! It feels a little early this month, so make sure the date is in your diary, your shopping lists are ready and reusable bags gathered up because there's so much shopping to be had! With over 140 stalls, plus live music and entertainment, plus our wonderful town to explore and businesses to support - it's a very busy day with lots to squeeze in. We can't wait! Are you coming this month?

The biggest tip we can give you to make the most of your Treacle Market trip is 'if you see it and you like it, buy it!' - we're always kicking ourselves for not snapping something up, and these new millionaire brownies were certainly on the list of 'i really should have bought that' items at last month's Treacle Market, by the time we'd gone back, they'd all gone! The same can be said too for vintage and antique items, handmade art and ceramics, curated items, delicious produce, records, best selling products and lots more. With such a huge market to wander round, by the time you remember to go back, it just may have gone!
