“The hug” has its origins in Aveiro and is the result of a product which comes from the traditional Portuguese pastry better known as “Tripa de Aveiro”. Emerged 70 years ago in Beira Litoral, specifically in the city of “Aveiro”.Made and sold in kiosks and fixed shops, it began to be marketed since then and it has been a success at a national level for, at this point, you can eat the “Tripa de Av

eiro ” through almost the whole country.“The hug” is made exclusively with natural ingredients: flour, eggs, sugar etc.. It is very similar to a crepe which may contain various fillings (chocolate, sweet cream made out of eggs, etc. ..), the dough itself is soft and elastic, served hot and sprinkled with cinnamon (optional). From the same recipe comes the”Cracked Hug” that instead of being elastic and soft it is dry and crispy, known as “American wafer” and referred by us as “Cracked Hug”. It is our intention , not only to let people know the product but also to promote it, due to the great market demands which make us commit to offer the consumer a product of great value.
