Some things are worth travelling the world for 🇯🇵

Last month, our founder Christopher and Maria travelled to Japan to meet the family behind our Matcha. Standing knee-deep in tea bushes, surrounded by the hand-stretched shade nets that coax out that vivid green colour and complex flavour, they witnessed first-hand what makes this ingredient so extraordinary.

At Clearspring, we’ve always believed the best food starts with the best relationships. That means knowing the people who grow what we sell, understanding their craft, and honouring it on the shelf.

Matcha isn’t just a trend to us. It’s a tradition we’ve been proud to share with your kitchens for decades, sourced with the same care that the farmers on the other side of the world put into growing it.

Genmaicha is one of those teas that immediately feels comforting. 🍵

It is Japanese green tea blended with roasted brown rice. It is warming and toasty, with a nutty flavour and a little popcorn-like aroma.

The green tea keeps it light, but the roasted rice makes it feel satisfying too.

Delicious hot or cold, and perfect when you want something bright and uplifting. But do not use boiling water to make it, let the kettle cool a little before you brew to not burn the delicate green tea leaves 🍃
