I had a lovely afternoon foraging Ceps with my mum and dad and my 2 dogs.
Despite last year's storms flattening half the trees on my best spot it still provided more than we could harvest or carry.
We left plenty of slug damaged ones behind and didn't even venture beyond the 'usual spot'.
Apart from drying loads I'm really looking forward to using the best ones for thinly sliced Ceps marinated in lemon juice and garlic then drizzled with olive oil and parmesan shavings with crusty bread to mop the plate 😋
I also love them in Autumn dishes such as a hearty soup or sliced and layered into comfort foods such as cheese and potato bake, lasagne or mac and cheese.
....or just fried in butter on a thick slice of homemade toasted bread.... mmmm. 😋
