Top questions this month!
Why the name change?
We started off looking to restart events from our childhood, such as the Horticulture Show, and from there, it became much more.
In 2025, we have completed the following;
Litter pick - church road, Fleetwood Road and Fleetwood Park.
Hosted 4 Arts and Crafts afternoons, in the Sunroom at Wesham Community Centre
K & W Horticulture Show with displays and music from Kirkham Cultural Connections
We took part in the Fylde and Wyre Villages Scarecrow Festival in August, hosting workshops for " How to make your Scarecrow". 11 houses visited those and 6 went on to create displays.
October Harvest and Hearth - a piece of British tradition in farming and market communities, reflecting on the year and supporting each other. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/articles/cg42p2zk0n2o
Currently this is our last planned event of the year, unless we qualify for the " Warm zones grant". If we are successful, then we will put a timetable out for the winter holidays.
There's also the homework and revision group at Wesham Community Centre, and a plan is in place to start a Community Garden in Wesham in the new year.
What do you mean by non-profit?
No funds go to Kellyann or any other volunteers. The funds are used for room hire, posters, refreshments, utilities, and materials etc.
The more we raise, the more events we can run - or add to future events to extend their reach.
Harvest Festival celebrates the time of year when crops have been gathered from the field - a time when people can reflect and show gratitude for the food that they have.
