๐๐ผ We would like to say thank you to everyone that has been here to feed the lambs and enjoy the authentic farm lamb feeding experience! ๐๐
It seems the council and health & safety have decided to stop us from offering this experience. ๐
As they think the public shouldnโt be aloud to make decisions for themselvesโฆ
And feeding lambs is to dangerousโฆ
Unfortunately, even with all the precautions in place, we had two cases of people getting sick, that could have been from visiting the farm.
We sent off poo samples from all pens to the vets as soon as we heard this, however all tests confirmed we did not have cryptosporidium here at the time of testing.
We are sorry that anyone was ill, we did not want anyone to get sick!
We sadly wonโt be offering lamb feeding sessions again, as the only experience legislation allows, is for pens to be two barriers away from people so that lambs cannot be touched. โ๐ผ
Apparently the person feeding lambs needs to be completely covered in a throw away overall with a plastic apron, gloves and visor (no, Iโm not kidding)
With a lamb brought to them in a completely โenclosed wash down-able roomโ that can be disinfected per personโฆ
That for us is not an experience, more a scene from a weird Sci fi movie! ๐ณ
With more work load than itโs worth.
Our thoughts of progressing and thinking of further experiences are now also out of the question due to legislation that doesnโt allow for hands on experiences where the public can come and get to be a farmer for a few hours or even a day, not even if itโs for private bookings.
Again itโs been lovely having everyone and we hope it was a nice experience you all got to share with us.
Thank you
