Just to let you know we unexpectedly need to close the shop at Haigh today Friday 6th Feb at 12.
Shop at Shoots Delph St.Helens open as usual
So sorry for any inconvenience but back to normal tomorrow

It's hard to believe that these drains or stone soughs were dug in by men with spades well before mechanical diggers were thought of.
This runs from the Curling Pond through the fields all the way besides New Road, (Higher lane to me).
Because the tops are stone flags, they aren't that deep, and our tractors are heavier than horses and carts they occasionally collapse and need some tlc.
Amazing!

Using the Tanco bale slicer to feed out the silage bales for the breeding cows at Home Farm, Haigh.

Saturday mucking out the barn.
Get the manure out with the bobcat skidsteer, our smallest machine.
Then enlist Jack Forster with our Manitou 7 metre reach to stack it up.
It's our natural fertiliser for the Organic grassland.
Grazing in the summer and silage for winter food.

Plenty snow this morning. So much that we needed to take some haylage out to feed the hoggets. (Sheep)
They can scratch through the snow, to a degree, but extra is better for their welfare.
