Announcement: It is with a heavy heart to tell you all that today will be our last day of trading in Hadleigh.

We will fill you in with more of the details tomorrow but once our counter is clear, we will be closing the door.

Thanks for all your custom.

As promised, we're running a deal on some cuts over the weekend and first up is our lamb shoulders, sourced from the Suffolk coast - where the pasture makes all the difference.

Going at ÂŁ10.50 each, these will make for a great treat this weekend.

Also, please be aware that we've got some teething problems with our card machine today.

We'll persevere but cash would be preferable.

Morning everyone. Just a quick heads up that we'll be closing early today, at 1:30pm.

So best head in early, to grab your essentials.

Also, keep an eye out later on our socials, for our special offers coming up for this weekend.

Let's talk about short ribs.

Typically these are destined for a low and slow braise, and if you've got a crock pot, they are a deliciously economical cut to cook.

If you are feeling adventurous though, they also work very well when smoking on the BBQ.

These meaty beasts are in the counter today, at ÂŁ11.85 a kilo.

They won't be in there for long.

COMPETITION TIME! OK, the Lionesses are heading to Wembley this Sunday to play Germany in the final of the Euro 2022, and we've got a few ideas up our sleeves.

First, we are going to be running a draw at the shop to win a ÂŁ20 voucher. To enter, you simply need to make a purchase and drop your contact details into either the ENGLAND pot or the GERMANY pot on the counter. Whoever selects the winning team will then be entered into the draw, to be selected at random, and contacted on Monday.

Secondly, we have made up some very special sausages for you to enjoy whilst watching the game. A BBQ Hotdog for the England fans. And a Currywurst banger for the Deutsche supporters. The most popular sausage will remain in the counter throughout the summer.

Allegiance is at play with both options here! So who are you going to pick?

(Or is that a silly question?)

How does David get his BBQ spare ribs looking so good?

Well, he sources high-welfare, free-range pork for a start. Then he creates a rub using a special 'secret' blend of spices. After that, they spend a good 8 hours in ol' Smokey, infusing with the flavours of hickory, maple and apple wood.

A labour of love but they are definitely worth it.

Friday night is steak night and the purebred Angus ribeye we've got in right now is exceptional.

Why not treat yourself and the kids*, and start off the summer holidays with a bang 🎉

*The kids can always have sausages though.

Did you know that a proven way to keep cool in the heat is to eat our pork, chilli and cheese sausages?

Seriously, when you eat chilli, your internal temperature rises, circulation increases, you begin to sweat and once that moisture evaporates, you start to cool down.

Look, it's science!!!

Come grab some of these bangers and try it out for yourself.

Just a quick one folks. In light of the high temperatures forecast for Tuesday, we are going to keep the shop closed for the day.

You would have thought the chiller would be very tempting but in truth, all the refrigeration units do add to the heat. And for the welfare of staff, we feel it best to keep cool at home.

We will be open again on the Wednesday.

Take care!
