Big refills, small impact 🌍♻️

At Empty Jars, all of our household cleaning liquids arrive in large 20L containers like these — helping to massively reduce unnecessary single-use plastic and packaging waste. Once empty, the tubs are collected and taken back by our supplier for reuse, making this a complete circular system from start to finish. 🙌

We’re proud to work with SESI, an Oxford-based company producing genuinely eco-conscious cleaning products that are effective, refillable and kinder to the planet. 🌱

From laundry liquid to fabric conditioner, washing up liquid and more — refill only what you need and reuse the containers you already have.

Every refill helps keep packaging in use for longer and waste out of landfill 💚

Local honey 🍯

Simple, natural, and full of flavour — just as it should be.

Sourced from our local trusted beekeeper, this is raw honey with nothing added and nothing taken away 🐝

It’s also often linked to helping with hay fever, with many people choosing a spoon a day during the season.

Perfect in tea, on toast, or however you like it — a true everyday staple.

Find it in store and online.

Four years of Empty Jars 💚

Four years ago, all we had were a few empty jars and a big idea. We didn’t know exactly how it would turn out, but we believed in creating something better, for our community and for the planet.

Today, those empty jars have been filled thousands of times over… and so has our shop, with conversations, familiar faces, and a real sense of community.

We didn’t get here alone. We got here because of you. Our amazing customers, many of whom have become so much more than that. You’ve supported us, encouraged us, and grown with us. It means more than we can properly put into words.

These 4 years have definitely had their ups and downs. Running a small business is never a straight line. But through it all, we’ve kept going, and so have you. And that’s why we’re still here, still strong, and still growing.

From the two of us, our little +1 on the way 👶, and Dobby 🐾, a heartfelt thank you to every single one of you. For every refill, every visit, every kind word and bit of support.

What started with a vision and a few empty jars turned into something really special… and we’re so grateful to share it with all of you.

Here’s to many more 💫

Did you know our Sesi non-bio laundry liquid is more affordable than most big-name brands — while still being kinder to the planet? 🌍💚

We’ve broken down the real cost per 100g so you can see the difference clearly 👇

Sesi (refill eco laundry liquid) — 40p per 100g
Ecover — approx. 48–52p per 100g
Method — approx. 60–68p per 100g
Persil Non-Bio — approx. 55–65p per 100g
Fairy Non-Bio — approx. 60–70p per 100g

That means:

• Ecover is around 20–30% more than Sesi 🌿
• Method is roughly 50–70% more 💸
• Persil costs around 35–60% more 🧺
• Fairy can be almost 70% more per wash

Same clean clothes, just less plastic, less waste, and better value every time you wash ✨

If you’re nearby, pop in and try Sesi for yourself — we’d love to see you 💚

Zero wate shop located in the heart of Evesham. Refill your tubs, bottles and empty jars here with food, toiletries and cleaning supplies all without packaging and with a focus on local, and organic produce.

Did you know our Sesi washing up liquid is cheaper than most big-name brands — and still better for the planet?

We’ve broken down the real cost per 100g so you can see the difference for yourself 👇

Sesi (our eco friendly refill liquid) — 38p per 100g
Ecover — approx. 44–47p per 100g
Method — approx. 65–70p per 100g
Fairy Liquid — approx. 55–60p per 100g

That means:

• Ecover is around 15–25% more than Sesi
• Fairy is roughly 40–50% more
• Method can be nearly double the cost per wash

Same everyday clean, just less plastic, less waste, and better value in your pocket.

If you’re nearby, pop in and give Sesi a try — we think you’ll notice the difference. 💚

If you haven’t got a bottle we’ve got plenty of containers in store for everyone to use!

📣 Community announcement 📣

Many of you know that Maddie and I are expecting a baby soon. As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, I (Marino) will be stepping back from running the shop so I can spend more time at home with Maddie and the baby.

We would love for the shop to continue operating just as it is today — serving the community and offering refill and organic products. To make this possible, we are exploring the possibility of community ownership.

There are two ways this could happen:

1. A small group of investors
Around 15 people (or more) could come together to purchase the business and continue running it.

2. A community-owned model
The shop could become a Community Interest Company (CIC), owned collectively by members of the community and operated for everyone’s benefit.

The total price for the business is £49,500, which includes:
• all fixtures and fittings
• all existing stock
• the brand and goodwill
• supplier relationships
• the established customer base

We are simply looking to see who might be interested — as an investor, or in helping explore a community-owned model. Depending on the response, we can then organise a meeting to discuss next steps.

To give you an idea: if around 15 people joined as investors, the shop could realistically transition into community ownership.

If this speaks to you, please send us a message or come and chat in the shop.

We would genuinely love to see Empty Jars continue in the hands of the community that has supported it for so many years.

Thank you all for being part of this journey 💚

📣We have some very personal news to share with our beautiful community…📣

Empty Jars has been so much more than a business to us. It has been part of our everyday lives, part of our story, and part of this wonderful community.

Through this little shop, we have met so many beautiful people. We have built genuine relationships — conversations across the counter, shared moments, familiar faces walking through the door each week. Many of you have become friends. Some of you feel like family.

And now, our own family is growing.

Maddie and I are expecting a baby.

After many heartfelt conversations, we’ve made the decision to look for someone to take over Empty Jars so I, Marino, can spend precious time with Maddie and our baby when they arrive.

The decision felt easy… and incredibly difficult at the same time.

Easy, because family comes first. Because these early days are something I don’t want to miss.
Difficult, because I have poured so much of myself into this shop. So much time, energy, sacrifice, and love. Empty Jars carries a piece of my heart in it.

Our greatest hope is to find someone who truly believes in what Empty Jars is today — someone who will continue running it with the same care, values, and spirit. We want you to be able to keep coming through the door, picking up what you love, and feeling that same sense of welcome and connection.

For now, nothing changes. We are still here. The doors are open, and we’re grateful for every single one of you.

If you, or someone you know, feels inspired to continue what we’ve built here and would be interested in purchasing the business, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly for more details. We would love to speak with people who share the same passion and vision for this special little shop.

This is simply the start of a new chapter for our family — and we will always be thankful that you were part of this one.

With all our love and gratitude,
Maddie & Marino 🤍🌿
