We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident sales person to develop our new Deli counter within Cox Butchers.

We are extending our current deli counter bringing in a range of British and continental cheeses, cooked meats, pâtés, terrines, deli salads, quiches, pies, pasties scotch eggs and more. We will also be serving a range of take away salad boxes and filled rolls using our homemade products.
We are looking for the successful candidate to bring a passion for all things foodie from a background of working within the food industry.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, offer product samples, and provide expert recommendations to drive cross-selling and upselling.
Product Preparation: Precisely weigh, slice, and package deli meats, cheeses, and
prepared foods to order.
Display & Merchandising: Build, rotate, and maintain attractive counter displays while ensuring stock is fresh and visually appealing.
Hygiene & Compliance: Strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, conduct temperature checks, and maintain a sanitized and tidy workspace.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order stock, rotate products, check
expiration dates, and minimize wastage.
Till Operations: Process transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash or card payments accurately.
Key Skills & Requirements
Product Knowledge: Familiarity with cured meats, artisanal cheeses, salads & local specialty products.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills to build customer rapport and loyalty.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work with slicing equipment.
Certifications: Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate
Working hours;
Thurs 07.30 – 14.00
Fri 07.30 – 14.00
Sat 07.30 – 14.00
