Have you noticed how plants just move around the place ,like this mauve Spanish bluebell and purple and white honesty—almost saying just don’t we look good together ,a summery dream of colours ? Then that cheeky purple honesty with golden privet .I didn’t plant them together
But look at those Spanish blue bells and the 3 cornered leek ——- I will admit to absently throwing a 3 cornered leek over the wall years ago and mebe the odd S . Bluebell never thinking they’d take the space over .
Years ago when I first start gardening here ,I threw some weeds over onto the garden next to mine and my wedding ring came of with them unable to find it ,forgot about it until sometime time later I took over the garden and was amazed to find the gold ring shining amongst ground elder and bindweed ——- don’t think I’ve worn it since !
BUT gardeners beware where you throw your weeds!

And yes ,still got some bare rooted rudbeckia goldstrum for sale £3 a bag ,courgette plants in litre pots £1.40 ,lettuce plants of your choice ,22 p a plug as shown last week And the usual array of unusual and usual perennial plants .PLANT SALE TODAY 9—12. AND ON SATURDAY. AND SUNDAY!!

First plant sale of the year and this year it’s different in that I’m now selling plants at the back and not in front of the house — and no ,it’s not because I’m getting lazy but I’ve replanted the roadside border and want to let it get established ..that’s the idea !
Anyway Jerusalem Artichokes are free to plant for anyone who’d like these delicious veg,then there’s bare rooted clumps of Rudbeckia Golstrum .£3 a bag ,lettuce plugs or trays and the usual interesting array of perennial plants .
We’re open from 9ish to 12pm Friday ,Saturday and Sunday.Hope to see you soon !

I thought I’d gone to heaven yesterday—- it was warm and the smell emanating from the honey spurge, euphorbia mellifera ,just pure honey ,just closed my eyes and needed a chair or a recliner maybe ..but then words ‘What are you doing ? There’s such and such needs doing .Come on!’
Hey ho! And next Friday,Saturday and Sunday mornings I’m selling plants —. Maybe if it’s warm you to could smell the honey spurge !

And this folks is B. Belinda ,beautiful or the other.She has a history ,——-who hasn’t —— during covid she developed an ulcer on her foot ,caused maybe by thorns It was extremely nasty and had to be poulticed and dressed daily ,she had to be kept in and fed on kale pinched from the veg garden — only the best for B .BELINDA —— she wouldn’t have survived without the dedicated support of neighbour Clare .Every night she visited to share the dressing business . What a neighbour! Aren’t we the lucky ones AND during covid ! B.Belinda went on to have her usual twin lambs ,coming in and out of the barn, banging doors open with her head ,lambs following one on either side .Heaven help you if you got in the way !

Are these 2 ewes first in a queue or is it just looking at perhaps greener grass on the other side or ..is it just sheep been nosey..it does happen !
And this week we’re selling the last of our delicious fresh grass fed lamb on Friday the 27 th and Saturday 28th You can p.m me with any order for your Sunday lunch or perhaps diced lamb for a midweek casserole.

Just seen these pics I took way back in early December as I wheezed my way round a sodden garden ,feeling like if I stood still long enough I’d take root ..and then I glimpsed this stunning rich, ochery gold willow with flashes of pinky ,orange ..there’s something about willow ,it’s so exuberant, so keen to live and get on with its life ! Oh! Just what you need on a grim ,grey day ! And such is their keenness to live they root so easily .The stems can be used fresh for making alsorts of structures .Just imagine the colour range you could have !!
