🔵 Our grant funding programme invites schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations supporting children to apply for up to £1,500 to improve access to fruit and veg.

This could include providing fruit or healthy snacks in school, introducing or supporting breakfast or holiday clubs, cooking or gardening initiatives to grow your very own fruit and veg or providing much-needed half time power for a sports club.

Who is eligible to apply?

Grants will be awarded primarily to schools, and groups that support children and young people. These can include voluntary or community organisations (including registered charities/companies), Sports teams for young people, uniformed services (Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Cadets etc, nurseries and playgroups. This list is not exhaustive and there will be many other types of organisations that can be funded.

Applications are open to all local good causes that support children and young people, with a particular focus on projects that incorporate provision of healthy food including fruit and veg, such a breakfast clubs, providing holiday club lunches or healthy snacks.

Examples include:
- Breakfast/after school clubs that provides fruit and veg for pupils

- Sports clubs that provide healthy food as part of the project or a much- needed half time boost

- Growing initiatives to grow your own fruit and veg or cooking classes using the food to learn

- Holiday clubs that provide healthy meals and snacks

- Projects providing SEND provision with healthy snacks/meals

- Youth clubs that provide a healthy meal/snack

- Addressing holiday hunger amongst children outside of school time

- Healthy eating projects that support families to cook healthy meals on a budget

- Foodbanks to provide food support to families

This is not an exhaustive list and other project ideas also welcomed.
