🏦 Capel Hendre Post Office is proud to stand alongside Ammanford Town Council, Ann Davies MP, local councillors, businesses and residents in support of a Banking Hub for Ammanford.

Access to banking services is vital for our residents, businesses and communities across the Amman Valley. A Banking Hub would provide an essential service for people of all ages and help support the long-term future of our town centre and local economy.

We encourage everyone to get involved and support the Banking Hub Action Day on 3rd July.

📢 WHY ARE WE HOLDING AN ACTION DAY FOR A BANKING HUB IN AMMANFORD? 📢
Many people have asked what the proposed Banking Hub Action Day is about, so we wanted to explain why this campaign matters to residents, businesses and communities across Ammanford, Betws, Tycroes and the wider Amman Valley.

🏦 A Banking Hub is about far more than banking.
For many residents, particularly older people, those with mobility challenges, carers, and people who are not confident using online banking, the loss of local banking services has created real difficulties. Simple tasks such as withdrawing cash, depositing money, paying in cheques or speaking to someone face-to-face now often require travelling outside of our community.

The impact is being felt by:
🏪 Local businesses that rely on cash services and banking facilities
👵 Older residents who value face-to-face support and personal service
♿ People who need accessible local services close to home
🤝 Those experiencing loneliness and social isolation
💷 Individuals and families who still depend on cash in everyday life
🏘️ Our town centres, local economy and community wellbeing
A Banking Hub would provide a shared banking facility where customers of multiple banks can access essential services in one location, helping to support residents, businesses and the future prosperity of our communities.

This Action Day is not about politics.
It is about bringing our communities together to demonstrate the need for accessible banking services and ensuring that the voices of local people are heard.

We are pleased that support for this campaign is being sought from:

✅ Betws Community Council
✅ Tycroes part of Llanedi Community Council
✅ Ann Davies MP
✅ Carmarthenshire County Council
✅ Local businesses, community groups and residents across the Amman Valley

Together, we want to show that the Amman Valley deserves the same access to banking services as communities across the UK.

📅 The Drop In will take place between 11:30-14:30 on the 3rd of July in Ammanford Pensioners Hall.

We encourage everyone to come along, bring family, friends, neighbours and banners, and stand together in support of securing a Banking Hub for our area.

Recently, we had the pleasure of being invited to Saron School to spend some time with the pupils talking about the importance of maths and how numbers play a part in so many aspects of everyday life.

Yn ddiweddar, cawsom y pleser o gael ein gwahodd i Ysgol Saron i wario amser gyda’r disgyblion i drafod pwysigrwydd mathemateg a sut mae rhifau yn chwarae rhan mewn cymaint o agweddau bywyd bob dydd.

From weighing parcels ⚖️ and measuring packages 📦, to handling money 💷 and helping customers with postal and banking services 📮 — maths is at the heart of much of what we do here at Capel Hendre Post Office.

O bwyso parseli ⚖️ a mesur pecynnau 📦, i drafod a***n 💷 a helpu cwsmeriaid gyda gwasanethau post a bancio. Mae mathemateg yng nghalon cymaint ni’n gwneud yma yn Swyddfa Bost, Capel Hendre.

It was wonderful to share real-life examples with the children and show how the skills they are learning in school today can be used in future jobs and everyday situations.

Braf oedd rhannu esiamplau go iawn gyda’r plant a dangos sut mae’r sgiliau maent yn dysgu yn yr ysgol heddi yn gallu cael eu defnyddio mewn swyddi’r dyfodol ynghyd â sefyllfaoedd beunyddiol.

A huge thank you to the staff and pupils at Saron School for such a warm welcome, fantastic engagement and brilliant questions throughout our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope it helped inspire confidence, curiosity and a love of learning 🌟

Diolch o galon i staff a disgyblion Ysgol Saron am y croeso cynnes, y sylw dwys a’r cwestiynau gwych trwy gydol ein hymweliad. Fe wnaethom llwyr fwynhau y profiad a gobeithio llwyddon ni chwarae rhan i ysgogi hyder, chwilfrydedd a chariad at ddysgu.
