The Veggie Shack will be open until Sunday October 4!
We’ve had a hard frost 🥶 so our tender crops are done for the season, but we’ve still got lots of squash, spuds 🥔, carrots 🥕, garlic 🧄, onions 🧅, field tomatoes 🍅, golden beets 🫜 (reds are almost sold out) and a few pumpkins too. We will be open until October 4 from 8am to 7pm on the honour system 👨‍🌾

The Veggie Shack is open all weekend long on the honour system… this will probably be the last weekend for corn 🌽 so if you are wanting to can or freeze any for the winter now is the time!

We’ve got lots of other produce available too including:

Potatoes 🥔
Tomatoes 🍅
Swiss Chard and Kale 🥬
Carrots 🥕
Green and yellow zucchini
Spaghetti, Acorn, Kabocha, Hubbard, and Buttercup squash
Kohlrabi 🌱
Sugar (pie) pumpkins
Broccoli 🥦
Garlic 🧄
Onions 🧅
Red and gold beets 🫜

Limited amount of eggs 🍳 and cucumbers 🥒 too!

📣 Important announcement 📣

As the fall season approaches it is time for us to make an important announcement. We have made the very difficult decision to not set up a pumpkin patch this year.
We know that many people will be disappointed, and it has become a tradition for many families to visit our farm in the fall. This was not a choice we made lightly, but as our family (and our backs) get older, we are wanting to spend more time enjoying the Kootenays with our kids, especially as the summer season is so busy for us and we often do not get days off.

We would like to thank all of the wonderful people that have visited and enjoyed our farm over the past several years, we couldn’t have done it without you! Wishing you all a wonderful fall season.

**edit to add*** we did not grow pumpkins this year, we will have a few sugar pumpkins available until the end of September and will be closing the Veggie Shack at the end of the month.

Well our corn is not quite ready… the smoke and cooler weather slowed it down a bit, however we are expecting it to be ready next week 😁 in the meantime we’ve got lots of other amazing produce at the shack 🧑‍🌾

Hi everyone, thought we should probably share an update,

First of all, HUGE shoutout and thank you to the tireless heroes that have been working around the clock to keep our community safe from the fire that has been threatening our area. Thank you to the Hydro crews for getting power restored to the valley.

Our family, animals and farm are safe. Thank you to all the kind folks who checked in and offered help.

The veggie shack is now back open (turns out the gardens had no idea what was going on and just kept doing their thing 😜)

Stay safe folks. Our thoughts are with everyone that is still displaced 🙏
