That is Hot Date. Chickpeas, lime juice, dates, tahini, cilantro, garlic, serrano peppers, Himalayan sea salt, black pepper and a blend of 5 spices. Real ingredients, no fillers.

I never needed a filler to make it taste like something. Start with ingredients worth tasting and you do not have to hide anything.

People assume this is my mother's recipe. It isn't. We didn't eat hummus in Eritrea.

My family and I came to Canada in 1980 and settled in Saskatoon. My parents made our small home the gathering place for the Eritrean community there, and my mother, and aunts cooked for dozens of families in that tiny kitchen. That's where I learned what food is actually for.

The recipe came much later, and it came from here. Western Canadian and East African, shaped by the best of both. 🤎

I started making this in my own kitchen, for myself, because I wanted something I could actually eat every day.

I had no plan for it to become anything. No shelf, no label, no interviews.
