That doesn't mean you ruined the relationship, but that means it wasn't love, it was attachment.
It was giving to those who don't deserve it!
You deserve much more.
The most valuable thing you have in your life is your time and energy, as they are both limited.
When you begin to understand this you know why you are so impatient when you spend time with people who don't suit you. You realize that the most important thing you can do for yourself and everyone around you is to protect your energy and your time harder.
Make your life a safe haven, where there are only emotionally mature people. You are not responsible for saving others. You are not responsible for convincing them to get better.
You deserve real friendships, real commitments and complete love with emotionally healthy people. The decision to distance yourself from some people will give you the love, value, happiness and protection you deserve.
