After over 60 years at this game I can confidently announce the coast is clear to plant. All our cool weather crops have been in for weeks, the tender veggies have been hardening off for ten days now. Today eggplant, peppers and tomatoes will be planted, tomorrow zukes, cukes and winter squash then finally watermelons and cantaloupes. Friday will be the day for everything else odds and ends. Saturday we'll be in harvest mode with asparagus, rhubarb, horseradish, swiss chard, kale and assorted greens.
We still have a varied selection of veggie starts for your garden so don't miss out on healthy organically grown wonders. The time is now folks to get your plants in! We're open 10-5 so do drop in.

It's not too early to be thinking about salsa or tomato sauce! We offer 3 superb tomato varieties for canning season. But you gotta begin now with the starter plants:
Juliette> a smaller grape tomato, can be used in salads too, firm and not too many seeds, sun/oven-dried possibilities
Roma> sets the standard for plum tomatoes, Italian heirloom, ripens a bit later though
Mexican Plum Regal> abundant yield, earlier variety, determinant size, the one I grow for my kitchen.

Now is the time to purchase and plant BASIL. Our BASIL plants are hardened off. Looking for Tulsi Holy Basil we have it! Looking for Sweet Genovese Basil for salads or pesto we have it! Making a stir fry or ramen try Thai Basil we have it! Lemon-Lime basil, Spicy Globe Basil, Purple Ruffled Basil, Prospera Container Basil-

Easy to grow and high yielding you'll be eating spinach greens all summer long. Malabar is especially showy and will add lots of character to any flower garden as well. You won't find these at your garden center or local nursery.
