Erik’s Story
It began by accident and a bit of frustration while in the kitchen of my house by the lake in the village of Sydenham, Ontario while making hot pepper jellies. The intensity of my frustration just grew and grew as a result of failed attempts of adding the correct amount of pectin. The jellies were either too runny or too hard. I gave up! But, as a lover of all things spicy, I had to find another avenue to satisfy my creative energies. That’s when I thought of hot sauce, and after tossing a few names around in my head I decided upon the name MissFortuneS. It was a play on the word “misfortune”, and the name of a fictional fortune teller. Many of the names of our sauces play upon things or events that might be considered dangerous, ominous or unfortunate. MissFortuneS prides itself on using only the freshest all-natural ingredients in our hot sauces. Our goal is to create hot sauces from the mild to scorching hot that are a balance of flavour and just the right heat. We feel that we have created a line-up that will appeal to a broad spectrum of hot sauce lovers. We hope you agree.
