Hi everyone. I will be at the shop from 2-4 tomorrow (Saturday). Come by and say hello. I enjoy answering questions on our products. As a certified Tea Sommelier I can guide you on how to make a good cup of tea. Have you ever gone to a restaurant, ordered a tea and what you got was lukewarm water, an expired tea bag, a teapot that leaked all over you, and maybe a cold mug? How disappointing. I sometimes like honey and lemon in my tea. Many times the server brings me creamers as well as the lemon. Eeks. I like my tea to taste consistent meaning the same every time i order it. When travelling I like to splurge on a London Fog. At almost 5.00 for a medium I expect a good tea. I have had coffee mixed in with the tea, no froth, no sweetener and many times half a cup. Not acceptable. When buying loose leaf tea from someone ask the questions such as what temperature of water do I use for white tea? If they can’t answer walk away.
In another week or so I will be posting a short video on preparing a specific type of tea. Stay tuned!!!

Good morning everyone. As some of you may recall I did a presentation at Seedy Saturday on foraging wild plants. At that time I indicated I would be hosting a fall foraging class. Unfortunately that is not possible now. We have a mother bear and 3 cubs that decided to live in our forest as well as another bear that has tried to get into our bee compound. Due to this potential danger, we cannot risk anyone’s safety. I must admit that the cubs are really cute even though they are almost moms size now. I am so sorry everyone but if you have another location you think that we can consider I am certainly open to suggestions.

Found this cute little guy on the floor in the shop. Someone must be missing him. He will be in a bee bag on the furnace to your right as soon as you walk in. Have a great evening everyone!

******He’s Home!******
After implementing several suggestions posted, Sebastian was found sleeping on the deck this morning in his usual spot at 6:30. I want to thank you all for providing advice, trying to help any way you could, and for giving support and encouragement. We so greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi everyone! Well today some lovely people came by and helped harvest some honey.Still lots more to go and a few surprises. One of my hives swarmed just as we arrived. I tanged but they flew off never to be seen again. If someone spots bees in their tree or in a huge ball on their deck or car call me. My guess is they are resting somewhere in the McQueen subdivision. If they are not caught they probably will die before winter.
Anyways the other hives were actually pretty gentle…. No stings.

Susan brought some honey she got out west that had pollen and propolis in it. Thanks for sharing it with us. It is a very healthy combination and tasted pretty good. May be something for future experimentation at Deertree.
